75 Family Alumni Chapter Legacy Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time or part-time undergraduate students who are direct descendants of those who perished from the airplane crash occurring at the Huntington Airport on November 14, 1970. The award shall be renewed for up to four years (8 semesters) if the recipient maintains good academic standing.

Recipients must fulfill the obligations of the standard application process and be accepted to Marshall University to be eligible for this scholarship fund and must remain a student in good standing in order to continue to receive the award. First priority for this fund shall be given to the first-generation descendants (son or daughter) of the 75.

In the event there are no first-generation recipients who qualify for this fund, recipient criteria shall be expanded to include any direct descendants of the 75 in generations beyond the first generation.

A. Dixon Callihan, Donald C. Martin and Ralph P. Hron Memorial Physics Scholarship

The recipient must be a junior or senior Physics major with a minimum GPA of 3.00.

The award may be received for up to a total of2 years, 4 semesters, if a 3.00 or better GPA is maintained.

A. Michael Perry - Freshman Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit incoming freshmen with a 3.2 high school GPA or higher and an ACT score of 21 or higher, or corresponding SAT scores.

A. T. Proctor Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit a resident of West Virginia, with a minimum 3.0 high school GPA or higher, who demonstrates financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Ada L. Bias Endowed Scholarship for Teacher Education

Scholarship shall be awarded to an Education major in the College of Education and Professional Development. The student must have a 3.0 GPA or greater, have reached Junior or Senior status, and have financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Admiral Paul D. Butcher Scholarship

This scholarship shall benefit residents of West Virginia who demonstrate financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Adrian Michelle "Cheli" Stover Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit cancer survivors who have been cancer free and off therapy for at least one year.

Adron E. Bolin, Elsie V. Bolin and Mary F. Garnett Scholarship

The scholarship shall benefit students who demonstrate financial need and meet institutional standards for scholarships per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Agnes Porter Beaudry Scholarship

Student shall be a junior in the College of Liberal Arts or the COEPD and have an overall GPA of 3.0 or better. Should have a strong committment to teaching french.

Alan Hissem Scholarship for Engineering

The recipient shall be a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in the College of Information Technology and Engineering (CITE). Priority shall be given residents of West Virginia.

Alex E. Booth Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit West Virginia Residents graduating high school with a 3.0 GPA.

Alpha Delta Kappa Doris C. Miller Scholarship

The recipient of the award shall be a graduate student, who lives in West Virginia, teaches In West Virginia, or who Intends to teach in West Virginia.

First priority shall be given to a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, an association of professional women educators. The association recommends that first consideration also be given to a female student. The recipient must be doing graduate study in history, English, or journalism and preferably working several hours a week.

Alumni Association Club Scholarship in Honor of Linda S. Holmes

The recipient shall be an entering freshman with demonstrated financial need and a minimum of 2.5 high school GPA. First priority for the award shall be given to applicants from those areas where alumni clubs made gifts to the scholarship and who have one parent who is/was an alumnus/alumna of Marshall University.

Alumni Association-John Marshall Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit students incoming freshmen students with a 3.5 GPA and a ACT score of 26 or above, or corresponding SAT scores.

ALVA AND DIXON CALLIHAN/JOHN MARSHALL SCHOLARSHIP

The recipient(s) shall meet the following criteria:

A. Completed an accredited high school program

B. Earned a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale

C. Earned an ACT composite of 26 or higher

D. Enrolled as a major in the physics degree program

In order for the recipient(s) to receive this scholarship in succeeding years, he/she must be a full-time student, maintaining a

minimum GPA of 3.25. Reapplication must be made each year through the regular process utilized by the Student Financial Aid Office of Marshall University.

Ambrose E. McCaskey, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Engineering

Scholarship shall benefit a full-time engineering student in the College of Information Technology and Engineering.

Amerikaner Scholarship for Excellence in Professional Psychology

The recipient shall be a doctoral student candidate in the PsyD program who shows excellence in psychotherapy, mentoring, and/or advocacy.

Amsbary & Johnson Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit Marketing majors in the College of Business.

First preference shall be given to a survivor of a victim of the 1970 Marshall University plane crash.

Angelene Battlo Footo Memorial Scholarship

Students from McDowell or Mercer counties, WV, who are entering or established Freshmen, are journalism majors in the W. Page Pitt School of Journalism and Mass Communications, and have an interest in print media. Any Freshman from a southern WV county who is a journalism major.

Ann Louise Page Sociology Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be full-time or part-time, graduate or graduate students in the College of Liberal Arts who are majoring/or have a concentration in sociology.

Anna V. Love Scholarship for the College of Science

The recipient shall be a full time, an undergraduate student in the College of Science (COS) who has demonstrated financial need. First preference shall be given to graduates of Cabell Midland High School, Ona, WV.

The dean of the COS shall select the recipient and renew the reward for up to a total award of 4 years (8 semesters) if full-time status and satisfactory academic achievement are maintained, in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Anne M. Shuff Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time or part-time graduate student in the College of Education and Professional Development, who is pursuing a master's degree and has been employed or is employed as a public school educator (Pre-K through 12th grade).

First preference: students who teach or have taught Physical Education or Art classes.

Second preference: Graduate Level students who are residents of Cabell or Wayne counties in West Virginia or the metro counties of Ohio and Kentucky. (Gallia, Jackson, Lawrence, Meigs, Pike or Scioto Counties in Ohio and Boyd, Carter, Elliott, Floyd, Greenup, Johnson, Lawrence, Martin and Pike Counties in Kentucky).

Third preference: Graduate Level students who are residents of Kanawha or the bordering counties of Kanawha in West Virginia (Jackson, Roane, Clay, Nicholas, Fayette, Raleigh, Boone, Lincoln or Putnam).

Anne McGuire Farrell Memorial

Scholarship shall benefit students from Cabell County, West Virginia or Lawrence County, Ohio.

Anonymous Undergraduate Scholarship

The Office of Student Financial Assistance shall select the recipient and renew the award if full-time status and satisfactory academic progress are maintained.

Appalachian Connection Scholarship

Arnold -Turner Journalism Scholarship

The recipient will be the Reporter of the Year for the Parthenon, the Marshall University student newspaper, or its successor, who has successfully completed the Parthenon reporting class, or its successor, during the academic year of the award.

Arthur B. Koontz Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit West Virginia undergraduate students.

Ashes to Glory Scholarship

The Director of the Talent Search Program at Marshall University shall select a recipient, in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance, who is a graduating high school senior and an active participant in the Heart of Appalachia Talent Search Program. The recipient shall have a minimum GPA of 2.90 and be a first-generation college student who exhibits leadership and community service involvement. The recipient must enroll as a full-time student at Marshall University.

Assure Fund for Chemistry

The scholarship shall be awarded to Undergraduate Chemistry Majors in the College of Science.

Aubrey King Thundering Word Forensics Scholarship

The recipients shall be members of the "Thundering Word" Forensics Debate team at Marshall University and:

- Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Have a minimum of four (4) events ready for competition
- Attend a minimum of four (4) toumaments per semester
- Commit to participation in the WVIFA state tournament, Pi Kappa Delta National Tournament & the NFA National Tournament
- Display leadership qualities to the rest of the team
- First preference to a student who meets all of the above requirements and is a resident of McDowell County, WV

The Dean of the College of Liberal Arts or his/her designee shall select the recipient and renew the award, in co-operation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

B. C. McGinnis, Jr. Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit students from Southern West Virginia counties of Boone, Cabell, Fayette, Lincoln, Logan, McDowell, Mingo, Raleigh, Wayne, Wyoming and Mercer.

Baer/Polan Family Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time undergraduate or graduate students in the College of Information Technology and Engineering who have financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Ben Hale, Jr. Family Scholarship for the College of Business

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time undergraduate student in the Lewis College of Business who has financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Ben Zadd Scholarship

This scholarship shall benefit graduates of Huntington High School and Spring Valley High School.

Bernard L. and Sylvia Rosen Miller Memorial Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time, undergraduate student in the College of Science who has a chemistry, biochemistry, or physics major.

The award may be renewed for up to a total of 4 years (8 semesters) if satisfactory academic progress is maintained, at the discretion of the dean.

Bernard R. "Skip" and Patricia L. Gebhart Music Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be graduate students majoring in the music in the College of Arts and Media, who demonstrate potential for academic and professional success in music performance and/or composition.

The award shall be non-renewable; only received one year by any student. The Dean of the College of Arts and Media, or his/her discretion the School of Music, shall select the recipient in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Bertha S. Filson Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit students from Mason County, West Virginia or Gallia County, Ohio.

Bessie & Isador Cohen Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit full-time students with an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher. The recipient shall have demonstrated financial need and shall be an orphan or have been a ward of the court until age 18.

Betty Frame McConihay Memorial Scholarship

The recipient for this renewable award shall be a full-time, undergraduate student who is majoring in math and is in good academic standing.

First preference shall be given to a resident of West Virginia and to someone who wants to teach math.

Block Family Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student, in good academic standing who has financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Aid.

B'nai Sholom Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time undergraduate, incoming freshman, who has demonstrated experience in or commitment to the Jewish faith and/or community. First preference will be given to a student who demonstrates community involvement and/or academic performance.

Bob Brown Jazz Studies Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time undergraduate students, majoring in Jazz Studies in the College of Arts and Media (CAM), specifically in jazz keyboard (piano, organ or synthesizer) or jazz guitar, who are second-semester freshmen, sophomores, juniors or seniors, in good academic standing with a 2.5 cumulative/3.0 in music courses GPA or higher, who are residents of West Virginia.

Bob Brown Marketing and Entrepreneurship Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time undergraduate students, majoring in Marketing or Entrepreneurship, in the Lewis College of Business (LCOB) who are second-semester freshmen, sophomores, juniors or seniors, residents of West Virginia, and who are in good academic standing with a 2.5 cumulative/3.0 in business courses. First preference to merit and second preference (if there is a tie in merit qualifications) to students who have need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Bob Carlisle Scholarship Fund

The recipient(s) shall be full-time students in the College of Business who are West Virginia residents and are in good academic standing with a 3.0 GPA or higher. First preference for Hannan High School graduates, second preference for Point Pleasant High School graduates, and third preference for any West Virginia high school graduate. Once additional spending is available through future legacy gifts, the award may be made to multiple recipients each year, with a preference for at least one student from Hannan High School, when applicants are available, and the rest to the other original preferences stated.

Boone County Friends of Marshall

The recipients shall be graduating seniors from Scott, Sherman and Van High Schools in Boone County, West Virginia, who plan to attend Marshall University as full-time students the following academic year. To be eligible, the recipients must have a 3.00 or better GPA

Brad and Angel Blake Family Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be a resident of West Virginia and a full-time student majoring in accounting in the College of Business.

The recipient shall have a financial need per the standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Brian Angle Leadership Award

Scholarship shall benefit juniors or senior students with GPA over 3.3 who are residents of West Virginia.

Brian O'Connor Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit incoming freshmen with the highest GPA, test scores and financial need, per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Brothers Bob, David and Greg Brammer Scholarship

The recipient shall be a junior or senior chemistry major who is a full-time student and a West Virginia resident.

The award may be renewed for up to a total award of 2 years (4 semesters) if full-time status and satisfactory academic achievement are maintained.

Brown Dog Yoga Scholarship for Entrepreneurship

The recipients shall be full-time undergraduate students who are majoring in Entrepreneurship in the Lewis College of Business, are residents of West Virginia, in good academic standing with a 3.5 GPA or higher and have financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Brown Family Student Relief Grant Endowment

This fund was created to support students who need financial relief from their education expenses in times of disaster, individual tragedy or personal hardship.

The recipients shall be full-time or part-time, undergraduate or graduate students with first preference to students who have financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Bruce Greenwood Scholarship in Theatrical Design and Technology

The scholarship recipient shall be a full time junior or senior student actively pursuing a degree in Theatrical Design and Technology with a minimum G.P.A of 2.0.

Bus and Betty Robinson Scholarship

The intent of this award is to provide for educational expenses of full-time, undergraduate or graduate students majoring in Accounting in the Lewis College of Business who have demonstrated financial need.

The award is renewable for up to a total award of 4 years (8 semesters) for undergraduates, and 2 years (4 semesters) for graduates, if full-time status and a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 are maintained.

C. Bosworth "Bos" Johnson Memorial Scholarship

The recipients shall be majoring in the School of Journalism and Mass Communications in the College of Arts and Media.

C. Dallas & Lee Anne Kayser Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time undergraduate students, who are majoring in either the College of Business or the College of Science and who are residents of West Virginia.

First preference to an incoming freshman from Point Pleasant High School.
Second preference to an incoming freshman from any other high school in Mason County, West Virginia.

C. Dallas and Lee Anne Kayser Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time student in good academic standing (2.5 GPA) with financial need per the standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance. First preference to a student from Mason County, West Virginia. Second preference to a student from West Virginia.

C.B & M.J Locke Hedrick Scholarship

Up to three awards shall provide full tuition, fees, and books and be continued for four years/eight semesters or longer if the undergraduate degree requires it as long as high standards are met. Alternatively, the monetary value of a scholarship award may be established and any needs, beyond other awards, received, including dormitory room and board (half of the dormitory costs if living in the community) may be granted.

Eligible students must meet current or future equivalent standards: 28 ACT score and a high school GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale or equivalent. To continue, students must maintain a 3.5 GPA overall or its future equivalent.

C.M. “Bunny” Gray Scholarship

The recipient shall be an entering freshman, full-time undergraduate, first-generation college student, in good academic standing, who has financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Cabell County Board of Insurance Agents Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time, declared business major in the Lewis College of Business (LCOB) who has reached a junior or senior status.

The recipient shall be a resident of Cabell County, WV and a graduate of a Cabell County High School in WV.

Cabell County School Counselor Assoc. Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit incoming freshmen graduating from a Cabell County Public High School.

Cadet Regina Lewis "True Grit" Memorial Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time student from West Virginia and be an MSI, MSII, MSIII or MSIV Contracted Cadet in the Marshall University Army ROTC. The recipient must demonstrate continued upward progression as an SAL (scholar, athlete, leader) and have a can-do, no-excuse attitude as determined by the ROTC leader. The recipient shall have financial need per the standard of the Office of Student Financial Assistance. The recipient will be the bearer of the Cadet Regina Lewis “True Grit” torch.

Callie E. & M. L. Peggy Henderson Scholarship Fund

The recipient shall be a financially needy student, as identified by the OSFA, majoring in Music

Carl M and Marianna F. Callaway Scholarship

This scholarship shall benefit Marshall University students.

Carlos R. Ballard Sr. Memorial Scholarship

This one year award is for seniors who have an overall GPA of 2.75 or better. The award will alternate between marketing and accounting majors in the Lewis College of Business.

Caro Family Endowment for Marshall University

Scholarship shall benefit graduating high school seniors graduating from West Virginia with a minimum ACT composite score of 30, or corresponding SAT scores, who will be a full-time incoming freshman. First preference shall go to students enrolled in the College of Information Technology and Engineering (CITE) or the College of Science (COS).

Carole A. Vickers Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time, undergraduate student with College of Education and Profesional Development who has a minimum overall GPA of 3.25.

First preference shall be shown residents of West Virginia and the metro areas in Ohio and Kentucky.

Carolyn Noell Smith COEPD Scholarship Endowment

To be awarded to students in the College of Education who are chosen by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Carter Family Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time, incoming freshman, an undergraduate student who is a resident of WV with first preference to residents from Wayne, Mingo, Logan, McDowell, or Boone counties in WV.

Cathryn Gibbs Harris Public Relations

The recipient shall be an outstanding UG public relations major in the School of Journalism and Mass Communications

Ceredo-Kenova Memorial Youth Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit students in the Ceredo-Kenova school district. Recipients shall be selected on the basis of scholastic achievement and financial need.

Chafin Law Firm Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time student that has financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance. First preference to a student from Mingo County, West Virginia.

Chang L. Kong Scholarship for Excellence in Chemistry

This merit-based award provides educational expenses for chemistry majors. They shall be selected as sophomores and receive the award in their junior and senior years.

The Department of Chemistry, in cooperation with the Dean of the College of Science and the Office of Student Financial Assistance, shall select the recipient based on academic achievement and enthusiasm for the field of chemistry and renew the award for the senior year pending satisfactory academic progress.

Charles "Chuck" Felty Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship will benefit first year students graduating from Spring Valley High School who attended a school from the Ceredo-Kenova Area.

Charles & Elzada Thompson Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit Marshall University students.

Charles & Lilly Lanham COB Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit Mason County residents attending the Mid-Ohio Valley Campus.

Charles & Marilyn Davidson Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time undergraduate student majoring in the School of Arts and Media.

First preference to juniors and seniors. Recipients must also be in good academic standing (2.5 GPA).

Charles & Victoria Rappold Scholarship

The scholarship shall benefit West Virginia undergraduate students.

Charles Calvin Byrd Scholarship

This fund is intended for scholarships for students in the Department of Special Education who plan to teach children who have disabilities.

Charles E. Jefferson Scholarship

Full-time undergraduate student majoring in Engineering in the CITE with financial need

Charles E. Romine Sr. and Shirley R. Romine Scholarship

The recipient shall be an entering Freshman in the Lewis College of Business who does not receive any other scholarship assistance. The award is not renewable.

Charles F. White Scholarship

Funds shall benefit the general scholarship fund for use in assisting students.

CHARLES FREEMAN BUTLER SCHOLARSHIP SCHOOL OF NURSING

The recipent shall be a full-time student, accepted into the School of Nursing and have need. The scholarship may be renewed for upto 4 years.

Charles L. & Shirley E. Roberts Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit students enrolled in the Lewis College of Business, who are residents of West Virginia and are involved with a faith-based/religious student organization.

First preference to incoming freshmen, graduates of Hundred High School in Wetzel County or Cabell Midland High School in Cabell County, West Virginia and/or students who demonstrate financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Charles R. Shuff Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit a student a College of Education and Professional Development. First preference shall be to residents of Prince Georges County, Maryland with a minimum of 2.5 high school GPA.

Charles Robert Shank Scholarship

The scholarship is for full-time, worthy drama students who are theatre performance (drama) majors in the College of Fine Arts.

Charles Thompson Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit full-time, undergraduate or graduate students not majoring in social services, political science, or religious studies.

Charles W. Pace Endowed College of Business Scholarship Fund

The recipients shall be full-time, undergraduate students in the Lewis College of Business who are residents of West Virginia and in good academic 'standing with a 2.75 GPA or higher and have need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

First preference to accounting majors who are residents of Mercer; Monroe, McDowell.or Summers Counties in West Virginia. Second preference to accounting majors from any other county in West Virginia.

Third preference to finance majors who are residents of Mercer, Monroe, McDowell or Summers Counties in West Virginia. Fourth preference to finance majors from any other county in West Virginia.

Charlie Viers' 64 Scholarship in Life Sciences

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time undergraduate student majoring in a field of biology classified as a life science in the College of Science. The recipient shall be in good academic standing with a 2.5 GPA or higher.

First preference shall be given to residents of Wayne County in West Virginia.

The award may be renewable for four years (8 semesters) if the recipient maintains good academic standing.

Chesapeake Energy Corp Scholarship - CECS

Scholarship shall benefit students in the College of Information Technology and Engineering and the Lewis College of Business. The Dean and staff shall make selections.

Chesapeake Energy Corp Scholarship - COB

Scholarship shall benefit students in the College of Information Technology and Engineering and the Lewis College of Business. The Dean and staff shall make selections.

Chester & Gold Roush Memorial Scholarship

The recipient shall be a current graduate of Point Pleasant High School, Point Pleasant, WV, who has been admitted to Marshall University as a full-time student. First priority shall be shown students with a major in finance. Second priority shall be given students with any business related degree.

Chiericozzi-Bruce Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time undergraduate students with first preference to students who are first-generation college students, sophomore, residents of West Virginia, who are in good academic standing with at least a 2.5 GPA or higher, and who demonstrate both drive and need per standards of the OSFA.

Christopher R. McDowell ROTC Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be a rising sophomore ROTC Cadet at Marshall University, who is a full-time undergraduate student, in good academic standing with the highest cumulative GPA (from all courses taken at MU) among rising sophomore ROTC cadets.

Christopher Thomas Jones Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit students from Cabell County, West Virginia, who have a 2.5 high school GPA or better, with financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance. First preference to graduates of Huntington High School.

Clark Family Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit students who are residents of West Virginia, eastern Kentucky, or southern Ohio.

Clayton R. Page Scholarship

The recipents will be a students who are full time, in the colage of fine arts, and majoring in theatre.

Clova and Westie Emmalene Brown Graduate Assistant Endowment

Recipients shall be at least half-time, graduate Music majors who (1) have been fully admitted to the Marshall University Graduate College; (2) possess a minimum overall GPA of 3.0; and (3) have demonstrated financial need. The Chair of the Department of Music in the College of Fine Arts shall be responsible for the selection process, in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance. If the minimum GPA of 3.0 is maintained, at the discretion of the department chair, the assistant-ship may be renewed. Graduate students may receive the for a maximum of 4 semesters. If no assistant-ship is awarded in a given year, the available funds shall be transferred to the Clova and Westie Emmalene Brown Scholarship and shall be awarded during that same year.

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in the College of Business who is a person of great character, who works hard and is active in campus life.

The recipient shall be a full-time student in the College of Education and Professional Development who has demonstrated financial need.
The recipient who is an incoming Freshman shall have a high school GPA of 2.9 or better; an established Marshall University student shall have an overall GPA of 3.0 or better.

Colonel Edward and Madeleine Comer Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time student, a resident of Fayette County, West Virginia and have demonstrated financial need as determined by Office of Student Financial Assistance.

First consideration shall be given to a student whose father or mother was killed during military service.

Scholarship shall benefit a full-time undergraduate student who is a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and a minimum of 3.3 GPA.

Applicant must be legal resident of Nicholas or Greenbrier counties, West Virginia for a minimum of one year.

Cosma A. Crites and Rex D. Crites Endowed Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be an incoming freshman in good academic standing, with first preference to a resident of Logan County, West Virginia.

Coston McDonald Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit Broadcast Journalism or Criminal Justice majors.

Courtney Phillips Proctor Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship supports students that have lived in Fayette County and graduated from Fayette County High School.

CSX Diversity Scholarship

The recipients or shall be a full-time student who is a rising junior or senior with a GPA of 2.5 or better. majoring in Engineering or Pre-Engineering. Need is not a consideration. Recipents must have aptitudw and interest in Railroad Industry or related work expierence.

Dallas & Novella Woodrum Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time junior or senior teacher education student in the College of Education and Professional Development who is a West Virginia resident.

Dallas Eugene "Gene" Lawhun Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time students in the College of information, Technology, and Engineering and have financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

First preference to students who are majoring in civil engineering.

Dan & Virginia Wagoner Scholarship

This scholarship shall benefit students from Cabell and Wayne counties with a GPA of 2.5 or greater, who have financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Dan O'Hanlon constitutional Week and John Marshall Celebration Essay Scholarship

The recipients for this annual award shall be full-time students in good academic standing. The dean of the College of Liberal Arts, along with a selection committee, shall select the recipients based on their submitted essays.

This essay contest will be in conjunction with the celebrations of John Marshall's birthday and Constitutional Day activities. The essay winners will be announced on September 24th, John Marshall's birthday.

The essay topic, selection committee, number of prizes, and award amounts shall be determined each year by the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts.

Daniel P. Babb Scholarship

The scholarship will benefit students with financial need after reviewing by the Department of Chemistry.

David E. Haden Scholarship

This award is for a full-time student in the Lewis College of Business (LCOB) who is a sophomore or higher and has a minimum GPA of 2.50.

The dean of the LCOB shall select the recipient and renew the award, at his/her discretion, if full-time status and a minimum GPA of 2.5 are maintained.

First preference shall be given to students who are involved in campus and/or community activities to both receive and renew the award.

David L. and Janet Meade Scholarship

The purpose ofthis scholarship is to further the educational opportunities for students who are residents of southern West Virginia, with first priority given students from Raleigh County then Clay County, then from the following counties: Boone, Cabell, Fayette, Lincoln, Logan, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Wayne and Wyoming. Students from homes with more than one child shall be given preference. Financial need is not a consideration.

Recipients shall be full-time, undergraduate or graduate students who have a minimum high school or college GPA of2.50 or better and shall be selected by the Office ofStudent Financial Assistance. The scholarship may be renewed for up to a total award of4 years (8 semesters) for both undergraduate and graduate students if full-time status and satisfactory academic achievement are maintained. For renewal, undergraduates may have a GPA of2.0 or better for the fall semester ofthe first year ofthe award (not to be disclosed to the student) but must achieve a minimum overall GPA of 2.50 at the end of each academic year. Graduate students must achieve a minimum overall GPA of 3.00 or better every semester they receive the award. Undergraduate recipients who meet the GPA requirements may, after their graduation, continue to receive the scholarship as a graduate student, for up to a total award for both undergraduate and graduate study of8 years (16 semesters). A graduate student who is a graduate assistant may be selected and receive an augmented stipend.

David W. Cavender Memorial Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time student and a member of the Marshall University Marching Band during the year of the award. Preference shall be given to music majors or members of Kappa Kappa Psi. Students shall be recognized on the basis of outstanding .achievement in musicianship and/or outstanding leadership contributions. The selection shall be made by the Director of the Marching Band and the Chair of the Department of Music in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Day of Hope (Eddrick Clark, Michael Dillon, Megan Posten and Donte Ward) Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time, undergraduate students who are residents of West Virginia in good academic standing with a 2.75 GPA or higher and has financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Applicants shall write a two-page essay on “Prom Night Safety.” Essays received will be shared with the Neighboring Initiative Charitable Trust.

First preference to students majoring in Criminal Justice or Forensic Science in the College of Science, who are incoming freshmen, from Cabell County, West Virginia

The recipient shall be a part or full-time student, undergraduate or graduate, who are in good academic standing with a 2.0 GPA or higher, who participates in services provided by the West Virginia Autism Training Center's College Program at Marshall University.

Delbert Carney Staats Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit graduating seniors of Ripley High School in West Virginia, with a 3.5 GPA or higher and financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

This scholarship shall benefit students who demonstrate financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Dixie Dale Roach Franklin Memorial

The recipient shall be an adult student who has a financial need in the College of Business. First priority will be given to students with dependent children.

Scholarship shall benefit students who have demonstrated experience in or commitment to working with historically underserved or underrepresented populations and have financial need.

Donald B. Harper Scholarship, College of Fine Arts

The recipients must be West Virginia residents and full-time sophomores at Marshall University with majors in the College of Fine Arts (COFA). The recipients must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in their major and a 2.5 GPA overall. The recipients shall also have talent displayed in their majors, and have demonstrated a commitment to the fine arts.

Donald L. Van Horn Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time undergraduate student in the College of Arts and Media

Donna J. Joseph Memorial Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time student in the College of Education and Professional Development or the College of Business.

First preference to students from West Virginia and Ohio. Recipients shall be in good academic standing with at least a 3.0 GPA and have financial need per the standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance. The award shall be non-renewable; only received one year by any student.

Dora Craig Memorial Scholarship Endowment

The recipient shall be a full-time, undergraduate nursing student in the College of Health Professions (COHP).

Preference shall be given residents of Mingo County, WV, and Pike County, KY; any year there are no qualifying students from these counties, the award shall go to any qualifying West Virginia or Kentucky resident.

Dora L. Simmons Memorial Scholarship for Criminal Justice

The recipient shall be a West Virginia or Metro-area resident, full-time junior or senior Criminal Justice major in the College of Science who has demonstrated financial need.

The chair of the Criminal Justice Department shall select the recipient and renew the award, if full-time status and satisfactory academic achievement are maintained, in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The recipients shall be full-time freshmen students in the College of Science who have demonstrated financial need and have an average of 2.5 GPA or greater.

The recipient shall be a full-time, undergraduate student in the Exercise Science, Sport, and Recreation program with a physical education major who plans to become a teacher. The recipient for this award shall be a full-time undergraduate student in the College of Business who is in good academic standing with a 2.5 GPA or higher.

First priority will be given to minority students who are majoring in Management.
The second priority will be given to minority students majoring in any business major.
Third priority will be given to students who are majoring in Management.

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time student undergraduate student who is an Elementary Education major in the College of Education and Professional Development, in good academic standing with a 2.5 GPA or higher and has financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The recipient for this one-time award shall be a full-time or part-time sophomore who is majoring in Chemistry and has the greatest increase in overall GPA from freshman year.

If more than one student is eligible, Student Financial Assistance will confer with the Chemistry Department, and the Dean of the College of Science if needed, who will then recommend the student with the best academic potential.

The recipient shall be a full-time sophomore, junior or senior undergraduate student with first preference to a resident of West Virginia or in the metro area of Scioto County, Ohio. The recipient shall also be a participant in the H.E.L.P. program, with first preference to students who are veterans or children of veterans.

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time undergraduate student in the College of Science, who is a resident of Cabell, Lincoln, Mason or Wayne counties in West Virginia, or Lawrence County in Ohio, who is in good academic standing with a 3 .0 GPA or higher and has financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

First preference to students considering occupations in professional healthcare.

The award shall be renewable up to four years (8 semesters) if the recipient maintains good academic standing of 3 .0 GP A or higher.

Scholarship shall benefit full-time students from Mingo, Wayne, Cabell counties in West Virginia or Pikeville County, Kentucky, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Dr. Harold Timothy Murphy Memorial Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time, undergraduate student whose major is Spanish. The recipient is selected by the dean of COLA and the dean of COEHS in coordination with the Office of Student Financial Aid.

Dr. Jane C. Fotos Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time student who is majoring in Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in good academic standing, with a 3.25 GPA or higher and has need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

First preference to a resident of West Virginia.

The award shall be renewable up to two years 4 semesters if the recipient maintains good academic standing. The award may be split among multiple recipients.

Dr. John B. Wallace Jr. Memorial Scholarship

The recipient must be a full-time student with a management or marketing major in the Lewis College of Business with an overall GPA of 3.0 or better. The Chair of the Management/Marketing Dept. will be responsible for the selection and renewal process, in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance. The award may be renewed for up to a total of four years (eight semesters) pending an overall GPA of 3.0 or better is maintained. Financial need is not a consideration.

The recipient shall be a full-time undergraduate student who has a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and is a science major in the College of Science, or a nursing major in the College of Health Professions.

The recipient shall be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student, in the College of Science, conducting research within the department of chemistry.

Dr. Joseph Abramson Memorial Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time, undergraduate student who is a West Virginia resident and a marketing major in the Lewis College of Business. The recipient shall have demonstrated financial need and a minimum overall GPA of 2.50. The Division Head of the Management and Marketing Division will select the recipient in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance. The award is for one year.

Dr. Joseph S. Jablonski Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship shall benefit full-time undergraduate students at Marshall University.

Dr. Kenneth O'Connor Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time undergraduate student who is majoring in chemistry in the College of Science and has financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance. First preference to a West Virginian student with an interest in chemical education, and second preference to a West Virginian student pursuing a degree in the health care field (i.e. medicine, dentistry, veterinary, pharmacology, etc.).

Dr. Linda G. Brown Endowed Scholarship for Allied Health Professions

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time, undergraduate student who is majoring in a laboratory sciences program in the College of Health Professions, who has need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance and is a resident of West Virginia or Marshall University's Metro Area (Gallia, Jackson, Lawrence, Meigs, Pike and Scioto Counties of Ohio and Boyd, Carter, Elliott, Floyd, Greenup, Johnson, Lawrence Martin and Pike Counties of Kentucky).

First preference to a student participating in the Medical Laboratories Technology program,

The third preference to a student in a Cytotechnology student.

Dr. Neil L. Gibbins Scholarships

The scholarship is open to full or part-time, undergraduate or graduate students in the College of Education Professional Development.

Dr. O. Norman Simpkins Scholarship

Scholarship shall support Anthropology in the College of Liberal Arts and Photojournalism or Graphic Arts majors in the College of Arts and Media.

DR. R. D. TREDWAY SCHOLARSHIP IN SAFETY TECHNOLOGY

The recipient may be either an undergraduate or graduate student who has a declared major in Safety. The undergraduate award may be made no earlier than the second semester of the junior year. The graduate award may be made no earlier than the second semester of study.

Dr. Richard Negangard Future Teacher's Scholarship

The recommended student shall have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and be a graduate of lronton High School in Ironton, Ohio; St. Joseph High School in Ironton, Ohio; or Lawrenceburg High School in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

If, in any given year that a new recipient is needed, there is no current graduate eligible to receive the award, an established Marshall student who graduated from one of the above-mentioned schools may receive the award, provided they have a minimum college GPA of 3.0 or better.

Dr. Robert B. Hayes Memorial Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time undergraduate students in the College of Education and Professional Development who have financial needs per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

First preference to residents of West Virginia.

Students may reapply annually for the award.

Dr. Robert D. Wolff Memorial Endowment Fund

Recipients shall be full-time, undergraduate music students in the College of Fine Arts or College of Education and Human Services who have financial need and a minimum overall GPA of 2.5, or at least half-time, graduate music majors in the Graduate College who have financial need and a minimum overall GPA of 3.0. First preference will be given to students whose principal instrument is organ. Secondary preference will be given to music education majors then to students whose principal instrument is piano. The chair of the Department of Music in the College of Fine Arts shall select the recipient in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance. Undergraduate students may receive the award for a maximum of 8 semesters (10 semesters for music education); graduate students may receive the award for a maximum of 4 semesters.

Dr. Robert F. Maddox Memorial Thesis Research Award

The recipient will be selected by a committee composed of the Chair of the History Department and members of the departments Graduate Committee, in coordination with the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

A graduate student of history at Marshall University to finance his or her thesis research. The basis for selection of the recipient will be twofold: (I) a thesis proposal, not to exceed three typewritten pages in length and approved by the student's thesis director, which is deemed worthy of the award by the selection committee; and (2) a short explanation and justification of projected research e)lpenses required to complete the proposed thesis which the selection committee views as being reasonable and necessary. Applicants must submit an approved thesis proposal and an explanation of projected research expenses to the Chair of the History Department no later than the first day of classes after Thanksgiving.

Dr. Robert P. Alexander and Jacqueline M Alexander Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time, undergraduate student in the Lewis College of Business who is a West Virginia resident and has demonstrated financial need. If the recipient is an incoming Freshman, a minimum high school GP A of 2.9 is required; if a current Marshall student, a minimum GPA of 3.0 is required. A committee of three faculty members in the Division of Management and Marketing in the Lewis College of Business shall select the recipient and renew the award, in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance. The scholarship may be renewed for up to a total award of 4 years (8 semesters) if full-time status and a 3.0 GPA are maintained.

Dr. Ronald G. and Mrs. Elizabeth L. Area Graduate Scholarship Fund in the College of Education

The recipient(s) shall be a graduate student from West Virginia in the College of Education who has financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Dr. Roscoe Hale Scholarship

This scholarship shall support students in the College of Education and Professional Development enrolled in Teacher Education that demonstrate financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance. The recipients must have attended high school in Logan, Wayne, or Cabell counties.

This award can be renewed if full-time status and satisfactory academic progress are maintained.

Dr. Shirley Martin Howard Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time student who is in the College of Science and has demonstrated financial need. Preference shall be given to a West Virginia resident. The dean of the College of Science shall select the recipient and renew the award for up to a total award of 4 years (8 semesters) if full-time status and satisfactory academic progress are maintained, in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Dr. Steve Winn Memorial Scholarship

Recipient shall be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Sociology who has done outstanding work in the areas of sociological theory and social stratification.

DR. THOMAS J. AND MARY A. MANAKKIL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The recipient shall be a declared Physics major, actively working toward a degree in the Physics program, and a full-time student at Marshall University with a minimum GPA of 3.00 or better. Academic excellence must be maintained for continued assistance.

Financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance is a second consideration.

The recipient shall be selected by the Lewis College of Business Scholarship Committee in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The recipients shall be full-time undergraduate students (including incoming freshmen) in the College of Information Technology and Engineering, who are residents of either West Virginia or the metro counties of Ohio and Kentucky, and are in good academic standing with a 3.0 GPA or higher.

The award shall be renewable up to four years (8 semesters) if the recipient maintains good academic standing of 3.0 GPA or higher.

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time sophomore, an undergraduate student majoring in Literature Concentration, Writing Concentration, or Secondary Education Concentration in either the College of Education or the College of Liberal Arts.

The student must have completed the freshman year at Marshall University in one complete academic year (may include both summer sessions). The student must have attained the highest overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of any sophomore English major.

The recipients shall be West Virginia residents who are graduate students in good academic standing and a major in a C.I.T.E. program on the South Charleston Campus. The award shall cover tuition and fees for a graduate course in a C.I. T.E. program taken at the Marshall University Graduate College South Charleston campus. Can be renewed if SAP is maintained.

E. Joann Price Memorial Scholarship

All education majors at the sophomore level or higher who reside in Huntington, WV, will be considered for this award. The recipient shall have demonstrated financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

This scholarship shall benefit full-time students, with a 2.0 GPA, who are residents of West Virginia and demonstrate financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance. First priority will be given to students from Mingo County, West Virginia.

Scholarship shall be awarded to a full-time undergraduate student, who is an incoming freshman and has a high school GPA of 2.0 or higher.

This scholarship shall support the children of certified classroom teachers in the Fairland, Ohio or Cabell County, West Virginia school districts.

A major in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) field should be highly considered.

The recipient shall be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with a music performance major in the College of Fine Arts who has an emphasis in keyboard. First preference shall be given West Virginia or Ohio residents. Elizabeth Childers Mount Scholarship Fund

The recipients shall be part-time or full-time, undergraduate or graduate students who are residents of West Virginia.

First preference to students who attended high schools in Cabell County, West Virginia, have demonstrated high academic achievement/in good academic standing with a 3.5 GPA or higher and who are majoring in the Lewis College of Business or its successor. The OSFA shall select the recipient.

Elizabeth, Harriett, and J. Kaye Trippy Scholarship

The Dean of the College of Fine Arts, in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance, shall select the recipient. The first priority shall be given to music students.

The scholarship may be renewed pending satisfactory academic progress.

Elmer & Marie Asbury College of Education Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit students majoring in Elementary, Special Education or Music Education in the College of Education and Professional Development.

Elmer Hamilton Jackson Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit students from West Virginia who demonstrate financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Eloise Campbell Long Memorial Scholarship for Singers

Recipients shall be full-time students currently enrolled as music majors with a field of concentration in voice.

Encova Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit students whose parents have a disability or work-related injury and/or family of Encova employees.

Erma Byrd Scholarship

Scholarship will be awarded to outstanding graduates of West Virginia high schools, two from each of the state's three congressional districts.

Ernie Salvatore Scholarship in Journalism

The recipient shall be a full-time, undergraduate student who is a West Virginia resident and a journalism major in the W. Page Pitt School of Journalism and Mass Communication (SOJMC) and in good academic standing.

First preference will be given to a Sports Reporting major.

Estelle Margaret Belanger Scholarship

The recipients shall be entering Freshmen who are full-time students with demonstrated financial need and have Print Journalism majors in the W. Page Pitt School of Journalism and Mass Communications.

Ethel Pearson Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be full-time undergraduate students in the COB, who have financial need per standards of the OSFA, with first preference to a student from Virginia or New York.

Renewable up to four years (8 semesters) if the recipient maintains good academic standing with a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Eva and Louis Goldstein Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship shall benefit students with a minimum 3.0 GPA who demonstrate financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Eva Geraldine Burton Atkins and Marcia Lynn Atkins Family Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time, undergraduate students in the COEPD who are residents of Boone County, WV. First preference to students majoring in Elementary Education and/or are from Scott High School in Boone County, WV.

EVA LOUISE MILLER SCHOLARSHIP

The recipient must have completed high school with a minimum grade average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Preference shall be given to a student majoring in accounting and if no suitable student is identified, the scholarship shall be awarded to a student majoring in the College of Business.

The recipient must be of good moral character as judged by an officer of the Student Financial Aid Office of Marshall University, in accordance with the standards and practices utilized by said office.

This scholarship shall benefit Marshall University students.

Evelyn Bonnington Scholarship

The Office of Student Financial Assistance shall select the recipient and renew the award if full-time status and satisfactory academic progress are maintained.

Evelyn Hollberg Smith Memorial Scholarship

The recipient shall have demonstrated financial need and e a graduate of a WV High School.

The recipient shall be either a recent high school graduate with a minimum of 3.75 or better and a minimum SAT score of 1320 or a Marshall University student with an overall GPA of 3.5 or better and a minimum SAT score of 1320.

Ezra Cochran Scholarship Fund

The recipient shall be a full time student in the SOJ. First preference will be given to WV residences.

Scholarship shall benefit students from Roane or Cabell counties in West Virginia, who graduated from high schools in Roane or Cabell counties.

Florence Troutman Family Scholarship

The recipient shall meet the following criteria:

a. An ACT score of 29 to 36 or its equivalent.

b. High school grade point average a minimum of 3.50

c. National Merit Finalist
d. Recommended by the secondary school principal and two senior high-level classroom teachers.

e. All in-school and out-of-school activities will be considered in the final determination.

Florentine Nitzschke Scholarship

This scholarship shall benefit Marshall University students.

Fort Gay High School Memorial Scholarship

The recipient shall be a graduating senior of Tolsia High School, Ft. Gay, WV, who is a United States citizen, a resident of West Virginia, a resident of the Tolsia High School district, and who has registered at Marshall University as a full-time student for the upcoming academic year. Priority shall be given to the student with the highest GP A and greatest unmet financial need.

Forvis Mazars Accounting Scholarship

To be eligible for this scholarship, candidates must be enrolled full-time as an accounting major within the Lewis College of Business and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.3. The selection process prioritizes students demonstrating financial need as defined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance. Additionally, academic accomplishments and active participation in community service and Marshall University activities, are taken into account. This holistic approach ensures that the scholarship is awarded to students who not only excel academically but also contribute positively to their community and university.

Fran L. Jackson Memorial Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with priority given to a student who has a 2.5 GPA or better as an undergraduate or 3.0 GPA or better as a graduate.

Scholarship shall benefit West Virginia residents graduating high school with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The recipients shall be full-time undergraduate and graduate students, majoring in Communication Disorders, in the College of Health Professions.

Recipients shall be employees or family members of employees of Fruth Pharmacy. Members of family include spouses, children and grandchildren. Gene McKee Memorial Scholarship

To be awarded to a graduate from South Point High School, with a GPA of 3.3 or better and a min score of 21 on the act. The student must also be a full-time student majoring in Education and in the College of Education.

Pre-professional engineering program which consists of the first two years of a professional engineering curriculum.

The recipient shall be a West Virginia native and a full-time junior or senior at Marshall University seeking a commission in the R.O.T.C. program who intends to pursue a military career in the Signal Corps. Scholarship shall benefit a graduating senior from Spring Valley High School. Student must be accepted into the College of Education and Profession Development. Priority will be given to English majors.

George "Mickey" Curry - WSAZ-TV Broadcast Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time student majoring in broadcasting journalism in the W. Page Pitt School of Journalism and Mass Communications. The award is non-renewable.

GEORGE H. GUNNOE, SR SCHOLARSHIP

The award recipient will be selected at the end of the freshman year to reward a student who has performed well during his or her first year. The scholarship will be non-renewable.

George R. Andrick - WSAZ. - TV Endowment Scholarship

The recipient shall be a bona fide West Virginia resident student enrolled at Marshall University who is majoring in broadcasting or broadcast journalism.

The recipient must have demonstrated a potential for academic success as adjudged by the Selection Committee after considering such factors as grade point average, standardized test scores and an application in which an applicant discloses information oncerning reasons for wanting the Scholarship, personal accomplishments and personal goals, and financial need will be given consideration among qualified students.

George T. Rorrer Jr. Memorial Scholarship

The recipient(s) for this renewable award shall be full-time student(s) in the W. Page Pitt School of Journalism and Mass Communication with first preference going to students majoring in Sports Journalism. The recipient shall be a full-time undergraduate student majoring in nursing in the College of Health Professions, who is in good academic standing, has financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance and is a resident of Lawrence County, Ohio, Cabell County, West Virginia or Logan County, West Virginia. This scholarship is not applicable to incoming freshman students.

He or she shall be a promising full-time student with demonstrated substantial financial need majoring in dietetics or having an area of concentration in a foods and/or nutrition related area.

Hazel Shrader Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time undergraduate students majoring in education in the College of Education and Professional Development. First preference shall be shown to residents of Monroe County and/or Elementary Education majors focusing on literacy. Secondary preferences to the adjacent counties in West Virginia (Mercer, Summer, and Greenbrier) and then to any other county in West Virginia. Herbert Louis Eiselstein Memorial Scholarship

Freshman recipients shall be full-time chemistry majors in the College of Science (COS) and have a minimum high school GPA of 2.90. Priority shall be given to students considering a career in metals and materials science or who have aspirations of becoming a professional scientist. The recipient shall engage in a minimum of 90 hours per semester of original student-faculty collaborative research.
Recipients after their freshman year shall be full-time chemistry majors with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

The Dean of the COS, in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance, shall select the recipients and renew the awards for up to a total of four years (eight semesters) if full-time status and satisfactory academic performance are maintained.

Scholarship shall benefit West Virginia residents who demonstrate financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Hickman Holler Appalachian College Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time undergraduate students who are residents of the Appalachian region: West Virginia, Kentucky, or the Appalachian region of Ohio (eastern Ohio) who have financial need per standards of the OSFA.

This scholarship shall benefit Marshall University students.

Hodges-Burlingame Scholarship

The recipient shall be an entering freshman, full-time undergraduate, first-generation college student, in good academic standing with a 3.0 HS GPA or higher who has financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Holcomb Family Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time or part-time, undergraduate or graduate students who are residents of West Virginia and have financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

First preference to residents of the southern counties of West Virginia: Boone, Fayette, Greenbrier, Lincoln, Logan, McDowell, Raleigh and Wyoming.

HOMER C. AND LOIS B. WRIGHT SCHOLARSHIP

The recipient shall be a full time student, of junior or senior status, in the Elizabeth McDowell Lewis College of Business at Marshall University who has a minimum GPA of 2.5. An Economics major is preferred, but not required. The Lewis College of Business Scholarship Committee, in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance, shall select the recipient and renew the award for up to a total of 2 years (4 semesters) depending upon satisfactory academic progress.

Homer Hickam, Sr. - Red Helmet Scholarship

Scholarship shall support children and grandchildren of a coal miner or mine rescue team member.

Hometown Sportswear Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time undergraduate students majoring in Graphic Design as upperclassmen, or with demonstrated intent to major in Graphic Design as freshmen or sophomores, in the College of Arts and Media with a GPA of2.5 or higher. The award is renewable for up to a total of four years (8 semesters) if full-time status and a minimum GPA of 2.5 are maintained. The award may be used for tuition/fees, books, room/board, supplies and/or related academic expenses that are not covered by other awards or scholarships. Recipients must file a free Federal Student Aid (F AFSA) application.

Howard and Janet Oswald Memorial Scholarship in Engineering

The recipients shall be citizens of the United States of America who are full-time undergraduate students majoring in engineering in the College of Information Technology and Engineering (CITE). First preference is for West Virginia residents. The dean of CITE shall select the recipient and renew the award in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance. The scholarship may be renewed at the discretion of the dean if satisfactory academic achievement (3 .0 GP A and above) is maintained. Financial need is not a consideration.

Howard M. Rife

Scholarship shall benefit children and descendants of those killed in the unfortunate plane accident of November 14, 1970.

Huntington East High School Class of 1946 Scholarship

This scholarship supports those students with family ties to members of Huntington East High School class of 1946.

Huntington Locomotive Shop Employee Dependent Children Scholarship

Scholarship shall support dependent children of employees of the Huntington Locomotive Shop. Applications shall be made available in the Training Center of the Locomotive Shop.

Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce and Generation Huntington Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit full-time undergraduate students with a minimum of 30 credits completed who do not qualify for the Promise Scholarship, or part- or full-time graduate students.

The recipients shall be full-time undergraduate students in good academic standing with demonstrated financial need. First priority shall be given to students working towards u degree with a declared major in music or music education.

The recipient must be at least a sophomore with a 2.5 GPA and a full-time student. Must be a legal resident of West Virginia. Students shall be in the College of Arts and Media & must have financial need per the office of Student Financial Aid.

J. and L. Eskridge Scholarship

This scholarship shall benefit Marshall University students.

J. Churchill Hodges Summer Scholars

The recipient(s) shall be a graduating senior from any Cabell County Public High School who is registered as a full-time, undergraduate Marshall University student majoring in science, mathematics or engineering; or in education in any of these fields.

The student(s) shall serve in the capacity of undergraduate research assistance to an eminent professor in Bio Tech, or its successor. This award is to be used as a stipend to support the student(s) during the summer internship. It is not renewable and shall be granted to a new student(s) each year.

J. W. & Emma Blair Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit West Virginia residents graduating high school with a 3.0 GPA or higher.

J.H. Fletcher & Co. Scholarship for Engineering

The recipients shall be full-time students, who have completed their freshman years, and are majoring in either mechanical or electrical engineering, in the College of lnformation Technology and Engineering.

The recipients must be in good academic standing with at least a 2.5 GPA or higher.

First preference shall be for full-time or part-time employees of J.H. Fletcher Co.
Second preference shall be for residents of West Virginia or the metro counties recognized by Marshall University.

The recipient shall be a full-time, undergraduate student who has attained at least a sophomore status and has demonstrated financial need. The recipient shall be an education major in the College of Education and Professional Development who has a minimum GPA of 2.80.

First preference for this award shall be given to an incoming freshman who is a resident of West Virginia and who plans to major in Teacher Education.

The recipient will be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate (sophomore, junior or senior) or graduate student who is a low brass music major in the College of Arts and Media, or a music education major in the College of Education and Professional Development. The recipient will meet established qualifications in performance and have earned a GP A of 3.0 or higher in the previous semester. First preference for the award will be a qualifying student who is a trombone player. Second preference to a qualifying student who is a low brass player. Judi Fine Cellist & Teacher Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate student who, upon auditioning, has demonstrated a level of musicianship acceptable to a designated committee of music faculty members. Preference will be given to a string major. If a suitable string candidate is not available, any student of orchestral performance may audition for selection by the committee. It is the expressed intent of the scholarship to financially assist those students of exceptional musical ability and determination who most need the assistance. This aim, however, shall in no way restrict the designated committee of music faculty members from making the award to whomever they determine will be best served by the scholarship. The recipient shall use the scholarship to assist in her or his development as a musician. This may include, but is not limited to: educational expenses, fees for music festivals, instrument repair, equipment (tuners, metronomes), lessons or sheet music. The scholarship shall support a student who is a building tradesman or a dependent of a building tradesman, either currently employed, retired or deceased, who is or was at the time of retirement or death a member of a Local Union affiliated with the Tri-State Building Trades Council.

First priority shall be given to a student who is a dependent of a deceased building tradesman or one who has been permanently disabled through a job-related accident.

Preference shall be given to dependents of tradesmen whose Local Union has maintained a fifty percent (50%) attendance record at the regular monthly meetings of the Tri-State Building Trades Council over the past twelve (12) month period. The recipient must have an overall GPA of 2.5 and be a full-time student to be selected.

Major General and Mrs. David W. Stallings ROTC Scholarship

The recipient shall be an outstanding ROTC Cadet at Marshall University who is a full-time, undergraduate student.

The first preference shall be given qualified graduates of Huntington High School, in Huntington, WV. The Professor of Military Science (the Professor) shall select the recipient, in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

At the discretion of the Professor, the award can be renewed for up to a total award of 4 years (8 semesters) if an overall GPA of 2.5 and full-time status are maintained. Financial need is not a consideration.

Major General James B. Baylor Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time undergraduate student who has a minimum overall GPA of 2.5. First preference shall be given a student who is a ROTC cadet and is in the Lewis College of Business (LCOB). If no student qualifies, then an eligible student in the LCOB shall receive the award. The recipient shall be a full-time undergraduate student in the College of Education and Human Services, majoring in Elementary Education. This award shall be made at the beginning of the academic year in which the recipient is fulfilling their Level II Clinical Experience.

Priority shall be given to graduates of Spring Valley High School in Wayne County, WV; then to a graduate of any Wayne County, WV high school; then to any WV high school graduate. Mountain Health Network Nurse Tuition Assistance Award Program

Marshall University students who qualify for the Mountain Health Network (MHN) Nurse Tuition Assistance Award Program are students entering their last two or four semesters in the Marshall University (MU) School of Nursing.

MHN will pay awarded recipients under the MHN Tuition Assistance Program as follows:

To incoming juniors: $5,000 per semester for each of the final four semesters in their nursing program in return for a five (5)- year commitment to full-time employment as a registered nurse at a Mountain Health Network (MHN) hospital (total $20,000 award).

First preference to incoming freshmen. Recipients will be chosen based on a combination of GPA, cocurricular activities and financial need, per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance, with priority to GPA and cocurricular activities.

The severity of financial need shall serve as the tie-breaker when GPA and cocurricular activities are equal.

The recipient(s) shall be a MOVC full-time sophomore, junior or senior student(s) with a minimum 2.5 GPA exhibiting financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance with scholarships awarded to students from the following priority ordered locations:
1) Mason County, WV,
2) Gallia County, OH
3) Meigs County, OH.

Opal Morse Memorial Speech and Debate Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time or part-time, undergraduate or graduate student who is and has been a member of the MU Speech and Debate Team for a minimum of one semester and intends to continue.

The scholarship shall be awarded to the student demonstrating the highest level of devotion and work ethic to the competitive team (this may not translate to wins but shows devotion and effort). If determined equally among more than one team member, secondary consideration shall be the student’s support, encouragement, and helpfulness to teammates.

The award shall be renewable up to three additional years (6 semesters) if the recipient maintains good academic standing. The student forfeits the scholarship if they cease to participate on the speech and debate team. However, should the team cease to exist, the student continues to receive the scholarship for the promised term.

Outstanding Theatre Student Scholarship

The recipient of this one-year award shall be a West Virginia resident and a full-time student in his/her junior year in a four-year program with a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or better.

The recipient must have demonstrated leadership during his/her college career in a significant way. The following are examples: holding office in an organization, student government, and/or civil government; being in a leadership position in athletics ( e.g., team captain) or other extracurricular activities; being involved in the community in a meaningful way and/or showing initiative in community activities.

Students will apply for the scholarship during their sophomore year. The Director of the Center for Academic Excellence will administer the award selection process and convene the selection committee. The committee will be composed of a representative of the Mayer family when possible; a senior student who is a member of the Society of Yeager Scholars; one alumnus of the Leadership West Virginia program selected by the Executive Committee of the Leadership West Virginia Alumni Association; and a representative from the Office of Student Financial assistance.

The Dean of the College of Information Technology and Engineering, or his/her designee, shall select the recipient and renew the award, in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

R. Thomas and Judith L. Plummer Scholarship Fund

The recipients shall be full or part-time, undergraduate or graduate students in the College of Information Technology and Engineering (CITE). The dean of CITE shall select the recipient and renew the award in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance. The scholarship may be renewed at the discretion of the dean if satisfactory academic achievement is maintained. Financial need is not a consideration.

R.A.D.A.R Community Service Scholarship Award

Scholarship shall be awarded to those students recommended by the R.A.D.A.R committee.

Randy L. and Anne L. Ewing Scholarship

The recipients shall be a full-time undergraduate students who are majoring in accounting in the Lewis College of Business who are residents of Kentucky or West Virginia and have financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Raymond V. Humphreys Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship shall benefit students majoring in Political Science, who demonstrate need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Rebecca Haught Bailey Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time student from West Virginia in good academic standing (2.5 GPA) and has financial need per the standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The recipient shall be a non-music major participating in the School of Music.

Rebecca Marshall Baylor Study Abroad Award

The recipient shall be a full-time, undergraduate student in his/her sophomore year or higher who is applying to, or has been accepted into, a Marshall University fall, spring, summer or academic year study abroad program. First preference shall be given education majors in the College of Education and Human Services.

Applicants must submit a statement of purpose essay (1-2 pages) describing the reason behind their choice of program and the impact that it will have on them academically, professionally, and personally. The application should be made in the academic term prior to the start date of the study abroad program; by April 15 for the Fall and Summer term, and by October 15 for the Spring term. Applicants must submit a project proposal within their application and this proposal is closely reviewed during the selection process.

Recipients will be required to carry out a follow-up project upon their return from abroad that helps to promote study abroad to other students at Marshall University. This project must be completed within six months of the student's return home.

Retha Fox Massey Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship shall benefit a full-time freshman from Midland Trail High School in Fayette County, West Virginia. Student must have a minimum high school GPA of 2.75.

Richard and Marilyn Ardisson Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time freshman undergraduate student who is a primary or secondary education major(s) in the College of Education. Residents of the state of West Virginia with first preference to graduates of Wayne High School in Wayne, WV with at least a 2.5 high school GPA and have financial need as determined by the office of student financial aid.

Richard E. "Rock" Fliess Endowed Scholarship

The award is for a full-time, incoming freshman student who has been accepted in the Lewis College of Business (LCOB).

The LCOB shall select the recipient and renew the award for up to total award of 4 years (8 semesters) if full-time status and satisfactory academic progress are maintained, in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Richard E. Smith Scholarship for Engineering

Scholarshi shall benefit a full-time student majoring in Engineering, in the College of Information Technology and Engineering.

The recipients shall be full-time undergraduate students who are majoring in Engineering in the College of Information Technology and Engineering.

Scholarship shall benefit a Lewis College of Business student majoring in accounting.

Richard Jarrel Hodges Memorial Scholarship

The recipient shall be one West Virginia resident, who has received the Promise Scholarship, and has demonstrated financial need. The recipient shall be pursuing an undergraduate degree in the College of Information Technology and Engineering with first preferences to a freshman and/or an engineering major.

Richard Marks Endowed Scholarship

This tuition award is for students enrolled in a graduate or doctoral program who work a minimum of 20 hours a week and have been employed for 6 months preceding the award. The recipient shall be a deserving native of, and current resident of, West Virginia who has a minimum college GPA of 3.00.

Preference shall be shown students who take night or weekend classes enabling them to work during the day; this is not to be construed as having financial need, as financial need is not a factor.

Richard William Wright Patriot Engineering Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time student majoring in engineering in the College of Engineering and Computer Sciences who is in good academic standing and has need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance. First preference to West Virginia residents.

The award shall be renewable up to four years (8 semesters) if the recipient maintains good academic standing.

River Cities Alumni Club Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit a child or grandchild of a Marshall University Alumni and must be a resident of the River Cities area.

Rob Wheeler Memorial Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time undergraduate student who graduated from South Point High School in South Point, Ohio with at least a 3.0 GPA.

Robert and Debbie Osborne Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time undergraduate student majoring in Accounting in the College of Business, who has financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance, with first preference to residents of Logan, Wyoming or Ritchie Counties in West Virginia and second preference to residents of West Virginia.

Robert C. "Chuck" Chambers Scholarship

The recipient shall be a junior or senior, full-time student majoring in Political Science at Marshall University. The recipient must maintain a 3.5 grade point average.

Preference shall be given to Mingo county residents who have demonstrated financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance an exhibit an interest in West Virginia state government and a commitment to public service in West Virginia.

Robert E. Fox Geology Field Camp Endowment

Recipients must be full-time junior or senior B.A. or B.S. Geology majors who have fulfilled prerequisites specified by the field camp.

Scholarship shall benefit students from Lincoln County, West Virginia.

Robert Leon and Ethel Frances Dulaney Piltz - John Marshall Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit recipients with a high school GPA of 3.5 or better and a 30 ACT score or better, or corresponding SAT scores.

Robert P. Alexander Lewis College of Business Scholarship

The recipient shall be a junior or senior in the Lewis College of Business who has a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrated leadership ability. The Dean of the College, in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance, shall select the recipient. The scholarship may be renewed one year for recipients who are juniors, pending satisfactory academic progress.

Robert R. "Bobby" Nelson Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time undergraduate student who is a Political Science major in the College of Liberal Arts and a resident of WV in good academic standing with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. First preference to residents of Boone or Cabell County in WV.

Robert W Steurer Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit students have who have served a minimum of two years in the US Armed Forces.

Roger S Dyer Engineering Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time student who is an engineering major in the College of Engineering and Computer Science.

Roger W Simmons Scholarship for Criminal Justice

The recipient shall be a West Virginia or Metro-area resident, full-time junior or senior Criminal Justice major in the College of Science who has demonstrated financial need.

The chair of the Criminal Justice Department shall select the recipient and renew the award, if full-time status and satisfactory academic achievement are maintained, in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The recipient(s) shall be full-time undergraduate students.

First preference to students from Harrison High School in Hamilton County, Ohio or its successor.

The recipients shall be undergraduate students in the College of Arts and Media majoring in education with a concentration in art or music who are in good academic standing with a 3.0 GPA or higher. The awards shall be renewable for up to four years (8 semesters) if the recipients maintain good academic standing.

Rose Ann Burgess Scholarship for Music

The recipient for this renewable award shall be a music major with first preference going to a student from West Virginia. Recipient must have a minimum 2.5 GPA with financial need. The recipient must also have an outstanding audition with musical potential. The Dean of the College of Fine Arts and the Department Chair, in collaboration with the Office of Student Financial Assistance, shall make the award.

Rose Family Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time undergraduate student from Wyoming, Mingo, Logan or McDowell counties in West Virginia and has financial need per the standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance. The recipient shall be in good academic standing with at least a 3.0 GPA.

Rubberlite Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be full-time, undergraduate, incoming freshmen, who are in good academic standing with a 2.75 GPA or higher and have need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Ruth Hawk Putz Scholarship in Piano

The recipient shall be a full-time student of merit and financial need whose major discipline is music and whose field of concentration is piano. He or she will be selected by a committee composed of full-time faculty members from the Marshall University Department of Music in cooperation with the Office of Financial Assistance.

Sabrina Graham Byron Memorial Endowed Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time, undergraduate or graduate students in the COHP. First preference to students majoring in nursing. Second preference to any other health science majors in the COHP.

Sally Garrett Walters Memorial Scholarship

The recipients shall be graduate students majoring in Communication Disorders in the College of Health Professions who are residents of West Virginia, in good academic standing per standards of the Graduate College and have financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Sam E. Clagg Geography Department Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full time undergraduate student majoring in Geography.

Sam Stanley Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship shall benefit students in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. The recipient(s) for this renewable award shall be full-time student(s) in the W. Page Pitt School of Journalism and Mass Communication with first preference going to students majoring in Radio/TV Production and Management or Sports Journalism.

Samuel J. Zygner Memorial Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time student in the Lewis College of Business. The dean of the Lewis College of Business shall select the recipient for this one-year award, in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Sandra D. Thomas Memorial Scholarship

The recipients shall be undergraduate students from West Virginia who have need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance, with preference to students from Raleigh County, West Virginia. The awards shall be based on financial need, and provide up to each student's cost of attendance (enough to cover tuition, fees, room and board, books and other educational expenses) and will be renewed for up to four years (8 semesters) if the recipient maintains good academic standing. The Office of Student Financial Assistance shall select the recipients and renew the awards if full-time status and satisfactory academic progress are maintained. As the market value of this scholarship fund grows, the grant awards should grow proportionally.

Sandra Lynn Barnett Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship will be awarded to any Education major in the College of Education and Professional Development that has financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid. Students must be enrolled full-time and have a 2.5 GPA or higher.

SANDRA SNYDER BOOK SCHOLARSHIP AWARD DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL WORK

The award will enable the Chair of the Social Work Program to provide specific Social Work textbooks to deserving students for use in their studies.

Sandra Soto Hatfield Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full time, undergraduate student who is majoring in French in the college of Liberal Arts. First preference shall be shown to WV residents.

SAUNDERS-BARNETT ACCOUNTING SCHOLARSHIP

Scholarship recipients shall be a senior accounting major, shall have financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance, have a 3.0 overall grade point average, and be a Tri-State resident.

Scaggs Family Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with first preference to graduates of high schools in Logan County, West Virginia and those majoring in disciplines in the Colleges of Business or Education. More than one student may be eligible to be recipients of this scholarship at one time. The award shall be renewable up to six years (12 semesters) if the recipient maintains good academic standing.

Seneca-Midland Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time undergraduate students who are incoming freshmen, residents of WV, in good academic standing with a high school GPA of 2.0 to 3.3, and have financial need per standards of the OSFA. First preference to residents of Greenbrier County, WV. Second preference to residents of the adjacent counties of Greenbrier County, which includes the following counties: Webster, Pocahontas, Monroe, Summers, Fayette, and Nicholas.

Service Pump and Supply Co. Inc. Scholarship

This scholarship shall support the children and grandchildren of full-time employees of Service Pump and Supply Co.

Sgt. Harrison C. Summers Veterans Memorial Scholarship

To support Ex-Military Veterans, their spouse or direct descendants who wish to attend Marshall University.

Shannon Ewing Sexton Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit students in the College of Liberal Arts and the College of Education and Professional Development (COEPD).

First priority shall be given to full-time graduate history majors
Second priority shall be given to full-time graduate students in the COEPD.

Sheldon and Connie Lynn Jones Scholarship CITE

The recipients shall be sophomore students who are West Virginia residents with demonstrated financial need and have a2.75 GPA or better. The recipients shall be full-time students working towards a degree with a declared major in one ofthe following disciplines: engineering in the College of Information Technology and Engineering (CITE), or mathematics or science in the College of Science (COS). The award shall be divided evenly between the two colleges each year.

Sheldon and Connie Lynn Jones Scholarship COS

The recipients shall be sophomore students who are West Virginia residents with demonstrated financial need and have a 2.75 GPA or better. The recipients shall be full-time students working towards a degree with a declared major in mathematics in the College of Science (COS).

The scholarship is renewable for up to a total award of 3 years (6 semesters) if full-time status and a minimum GPA of 2.75 are maintained, in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Sherri Turley Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time, undergraduate student who has a minimum overall GPA of3.0 and is a member in good standing of the MU Delta Kappa Chapter of Delta Omicron International Music Fraternity, Marshall University. The recipient must be a music or music education major or music minor and be recommended by the Chapter Advisor. The chair of the Department of Music in the College of Fine Arts shall select the recipient, in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance. The scholarship may be renewed for up to a total award of 4 years (8 semesters) at the discretion of the chair.

Shewey Family Scholarship Program

The recipients of this need-based award shall be full-time students who have at least a 3.0 GPA with financial needs per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

First preference shall be given to students who have participated in programs of the Shewey Research and Learning Center in Mingo County.
The second preference shall be given to qualified students from Mingo, Logan, McDowell, or Wayne counties in West Virginia and Martin County in Kentucky.

Simon Perry Scholarship In Political Science

The recipient shall be an undergraduate student with a declared major In political science.

SMC ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS SCHOLARSHIP

Recipients for this renewable award shall be students within the College of Information Technology & Engineering (C.I.T.E.).

First consideration will be given to graduate students enrolled in the Technology Management degree program who are employees of SMC Electrical Products and recommended to the Marshall University Office of Student Financial Assistance by a committee composed of SMC employees (not to include the President) and a community representative who may be a board member.

These recipients will be men and women who are responsible for selecting/implementing new/existing technology must integrate technology into the operations of their firm's work on interdisciplinary or inter-organizational projects involving a team of specialists strive to improve quality and productivity within the organization.

When no qualified SMC applicants are available, the Dean of CITE may select any full-time student with at least a sophomore status in the C.I.T.E. program, in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Somerville & Company, P.L.L.C. Accounting Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time undergraduate students, majoring in accounting in the Lewis College of Business.

Sonstegard Scholarship Award/Graduate Scholarship in Counseling

The recipient shall be a West Virginia resident who is a graduate student in good standing and a major in Counseling. Each award shall cover tuition and fees for a graduate course in Counseling taken at the Marshall University Graduate College South Charleston campus.

Southwestern District Labor Council, AFL-CIO - Charles A. Spurlock Scholarship

Scholarship will support a student who is a member of the labor council or a dependent of a labor council member.

Spriggs Family Scholarship

The scholarship shall benefit students from Cabell, Wayne or Lincoln counties in West Virginia; Lawrence or Scioto counties in Ohio; or Boyd County in Kentucky.
Applicants shall be admitted to Marshall University as freshmen, or if currently enrolled, have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0. A parent of each applicant must be retired, disabled, or employed full-time as a fireman, policeman, state patrolman, sheriff deputy, or in any law enforcement position in those counties listed above.

State Farm Agent's Alumni Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time undergraduate or graduate students in the College of Business who are in good academic standing with a 3.0 GPA or higher and have financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance. The award shall be renewable for up to four year (8 semesters) if the recipient maintain good academic standing.

Steel of West Virginia Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in the Lewis College of Business, who is a resident of West Virginia, Ohio, or Kentucky and has financial need per the office of student financial aid.

Stephen C Foster Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship shall support full-time undergraduate students majoring in Secondary Education with a concentration in Social Studies. Recipients must be from West Virginia, Ohio, or Kentucky with a 3.0 GPA or higher, majoring in history or education with a specialty of social studies at the secondary level and have financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Stephen H. Ellis Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time student, who is a resident of West Virginia, in good academic standing with a 2.5 GPA or higher, and has financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The award shall be renewable for up to four years (8 semesters) if the recipient maintains good academic standing of a 2.5 GPA or higher.

Scholarship shall benefit West Virginia resident students with financial need who are enrolled in the College of Education and Professional Development.

The recipient(s) shall be a full—time undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Accounting in the Lewis College of Business in good academic standing with a 3.0 GPA or higher. First preference to a student from Gallia County, Ohio. Second preference to a student from Meigs County, Ohio.

The award shall be non-renewable; only received one year by any student. The Dean of the Lewis College of Business, or his/her designee, shall select the recipient in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance

Steve and Amy New Scholarship

Scholarship shall be made available for incoming freshmen from Mingo, Logan, McDowell, Wayne and Wyoming counties in West Virginia.

Steve and Mary Beckelhimer Science Education Graduate Scholarship

Recipients shall be graduates of the Marshall University College of Education or hold a degree from an accredited undergraduate education program or hold a valid teaching certification in the state of West Virginia and be accepted to either a research-based graduate program in the Marshall University College of Science (COS) or a College of Education and Professional Development (COEPD) graduate program and be planning to become science educators in the public school system.

Priority shall be given to students from West Virginia.

The recipient shall conduct research under the supervision of a faculty member whose research field is included under the guidelines of the State of West Virginia Research Trust Fund.

Steve and Mary Beckelhimer Science Education Undergraduate Scholarship

The scholarship shall be awarded to any Science major in the College of Education and Professional Development. The student must be full-time and have need per the standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance. Additional Requirements include: ADMI 4 status, admitted to Teacher Education and in good academic standing (2.0 + GPA).

Steve and Sue Zemba Scholarship for the College of Business

To be awarded to a full time undergraduate or graduate student in the College of Business that is in good academic standing.

Steve Ledahawsky Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time undergraduate student, rising sophomore, junior or senior, in the Lewis College of Business, in good academic standing.

Steven Hatfield Memorial Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time undergraduate or graduate students, who are majoring in Secondary Education, attaining their Masters of Arts in Teaching or pursuing Post Baccalaureate Education in the College of Education and Professional Development, with first preference to a student interested in teaching mathematics.

Stuart W. Thomas, Jr. Undergraduate Research Award in Psychology

The recipient shall be a full-time undergraduate student in the Department of Psychology. The recipient shall be chosen on the merits of outstanding research that relies substantially on quantitative psychology.

Sue Soto Scholarship for Strings

The recipient shall be a full-time student who is a member of the Marshall Orchestra who plays a string instrument and has a minimum GPA of 3.0. The String Faculty in the College of Fine Arts Music Department shall be responsible for selecting a superb musician, in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance. The award may be renewed if the student continues orchestra participation and maintains a minimum of 3.0 GPA.

Susan Polacek Wheeler and Andrea Hager WHS 1988 Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time, undergraduate students who are in good academic standing with a 3.0 GPA or higher, who are West Virginia residents, and who graduated from Wayne High School in Wayne County, West Virginia, or its successor.

First preference to students majoring in accounting in the College of Business.
Second preference to any other business major in the College of Business.
Third preference to students majoring in Elementary Education, Secondary Education, or Special Education in the College of Education and Professional Development.
If no business majors or elementary/secondary education majors are eligible, the student may be in any other major in any other college.

Susan Ruth Smith Bradberry Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit full-time students from West Virginia with a concentration in Special Education. Student must be a junior with a desire to teach Special Education in West Virginia.

Susan Williams-Helmer Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time undergraduate student in the College of Health Professions majoring in Nursing, with first preference to a student on the Marshall University track team.

Suzanne W. Thorniley Graduate Scholarship

The recipient shall be a graduate student, who is majoring in Social Work in the College of Health Professions, is a resident of West Virginia, and who has demonstrated a financial need to the faculty of the Social Work department.
In the first year, there shall be one $5,000.00 award. The second year, and every year thereafter, there shall be two $5,000.00 awards ($10,000.00 total), if the first one can be renewed, and another new awardee is chosen, as long as funding is available.

Suzanne W. Thorniley Undergraduate Scholarship

The recipient shall be a junior or senior level undergraduate student, who is majoring in Social Work in the College of Health Professions, is a resident of West Virginia, and has demonstrated financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

T. Les Huff Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit first-generation students graduating from Gilbert High School (Mingo Central). Students shall have demonstrated financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The recipient shall be a graduate of Wayne High School, or its successor, with good academic standing. The recipient shall have demonstrated financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The recipients shall be full-time undergraduate students in the Lewis College of Business who have financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance. First preference to students with residency in the counties of Cabell, Wayne, Putnam, Mason or Lincoln in West Virginia, and the metro counties of Ohio and Kentucky.

Scholarship shall benefit students who graduated high school with a 2.5 GPA or better and have financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time, graduate student majoring in the Forensic Science Graduate Program (MSFS) in the College of Science.

The "Get Your Stitch On!" Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time student from West Virginia in the College of Arts and Media’s School of Art and Design with a fibers emphasis. The recipient shall be in good academic standing (3.5 GPA) and have financial need per the standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The recipient shall be ONE full-time student who is majoring in Engineering in the College of Information Technology and Engineering and be in good academic standing with a 2.5 GP A or higher

The award shall be renewable up to four years (8 semesters) if the recipient maintains good academic standing of 2.5 GPA or higher. The Dean of the College of Arts and Media or his/her designee shall select the recipient and renew the award, in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The Alpha-Tech Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time undergraduate or graduate students from West Virginia majoring in a cybersecurity-related field, who are in good academic standing (2.5 GPA) and have financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Student recipients will be encouraged to apply for internships at Alpha Technologies, translating their academic knowledge into real-world practice.

The Ashland Inc. Foundation - John Marshall Scholarship

This scholarship shall benefit incoming freshmen who have a 3.5 high school GPA or higher and have achieved a 30 or better ACT score/or SAT equivalent.

The Bill and Nancy White Family Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time undergraduate student, be in good academic standing and have financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance. The award shall be renewable up to four years (8 semesters) if the recipient maintains good academic standing of 2.5 GPA or higher.

The Brad & Alys Smith Family Scholarship Fund

This scholarship shall benefit full-time undergraduate students who are residents of West Virginia or Ohio, in good academic standing and demonstrate financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

First preference shall be given to first-generation college students.

The Brian O'Dell Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit undergraduate and graduate students.

The Carolyn and Wes Agee Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be a resident of West Virginia or the metro county areas of Ohio or Kentucky, as defined by Marshall University, be in good academic standing with a 3.0 GPA or higher, and have financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The Carroll Family Scholarship

This scholarship shall benefit Marshall students from Wayne County, West Virginia.

THE CATHERINE AND PAUL BABB SCHOLARSHIP

The scholarship shall go to a student majoring in chemistry.

The Central Ohio, Ted Neal Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit students from Central Ohio with a 2.0 GPA or higher who demonstrate financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

THE CHELLGREN SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The recipient shall be an undergraduate or graduate full-time student of sophomore standing or beyond in the College of Business with a major in business and/or economics. The recipient shall demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance. The recipient shall be selected by the College of Business in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The Cleckley Family Memorial Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student who demonstrates financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance, and has a minimum 2.7 overall GPA or is a Carter G. Woodson Faculty initiative participant in the process of writing the dissertation.

The recipient must have demonstrated leadership ability and service to the university and/or community.

THE CLYDE AND PANSY SLATER SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The scholarship is for a student in the College of Business. The recipient must be a resident of the State of West Virginia, and preferably one with a rural, farm background.

The recipient must have financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid at Marshall University.

The Department of Geology Endowed Scholarship

The recipient(s) must have a declared Geology Major in either the B.S. or B.A. options and must maintain the major to remain eligible.

For incoming freshmen students, the following minimum standards must be met:

1. Minimum ACT score of 24 or SAT score of 940-970.

2. Minimum GPA of 3.50 on the 4.0 grading scale.

For existing and geology enrolled students:
A minimum GPA of 3.0 in both the major and overall.

The Dewey and Judy Bocook Scholarship for Engineering

First preference shall be residents of Johnson, Floyd, Martin, Pike, or Lawrence counties in Kentucky. Freshman recipients shall be full-time with an engineering major in the College of Information Technology and Engineering (CITE) and have a minimum ACT score of 26 with a High School GPA of 3.5. If there are no candidates from Johnson, Floyd, martin, Pike or Lawrence counties in KY, this scholarship will not have any residency restrictions.

THE DIXIE L. HUDSON WILSON AND RICHARD LEE WILSON NURSING SCHOLARSHIP

The recipient who shall be a West Virginia resident with financial need who has been fully admitted to the School of Nursing. The recipient must be a full time student, have a previous high school or college grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher and maintain a 3.0 or higher GPA to continue the award.

The Donald Cain Tarter Biological Sciences

The recipient shall be a full-time student (undergraduate of junior level or greater, or graduate), majoring in Biological Sciences or Integrated Sciences. The student must be involved in research in biological, biotechnical, biomedical sciences, or in energy and environmental sciences.

The Dean or appointed faculty members in the College of Science, in collaboration with the Office of Student Financial Aid, shall select the recipient(s) and renew the award as long as full-time status and good academic standing are maintained.

THE DR. GURU KADEMANI MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP IN MANAGEMENT

The student shall have: Declared a major in Management, including Health Care, Operation or Business Information Systems. A min GPA of a 3.0 Marshall University Grade Point Average. Junior or senior standing. A student meeting the above criteria may be eligible to receive the scholarship on a continuing basis. A candidate must submit two essays, one entitled ''What Being a Management Major Means to Me," and the other entitled ''Need for Financial Aid."

The Dr. Herman Weill History Essay Endowed Fund

This interest is to be awarded annually to one or more students enrolled at Marshall University full or part-time from any academic discipline.

THE DR. HERSCHEL HEATH SCHOLARSHIP IN HISTORY

Selection of the recipient will be made by a five (5) member committee. Student must be a talented, worthy (graduate or undergraduate) students of history at Marshall University. The basis for selection of the recipient will be twofold: (1) academic achievement both in the discipline of history and overall scholastic ability; and (2) expressed interest of the recipient to continue his/her formal education. In no case is the selection to be made solely on the basis of competitive acts or mere quality point averages, nor does the student have to be a member of Phi Alpha Theta.

The E. Stephenson "Steve" Goodman Memorial Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time undergraduate student who is majoring in Teacher Education in the College of Education and Professional Development and is in good academic standing with a 3.0 GPA or higher.

First preference to a resident of West Virginia.

The award shall be renewable up to four years (8 semesters) if the recipient maintains good academic standing.

The Earl L. Mullineaux Charitable Trust Scholarship Fund

Scholarship shall benefit full-time students majoring in engineering, chemistry, physics, natural sciences, agriculture or other related sciences, be a resident of Cabell or Wayne counties in West Virginia, who demonstrates financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

THE EDITH M. MILLER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Recipients will be in the School of Nursing selected on the basis of scholastic ability of the applicants and on the basis of need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid.

The Elisabeth Davidson Kimbler Award for Study Abroad

This fund is to be used to support students of the Department of Modern Languages with costs associated with Study Abroa4 to include but not limited to, application fees, tuition, books, and room and board.

THE ENGINEERS CLUB OF HUNTINGTON ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP

Scholarship recipients shall be selected by a committee composed of representatives from the faculty of Marshall University Department of Engineering and from the Executive Board of The Engineers Club of Huntington. Selection shall be based on the potential of recipients to become practicing engineers. The Department of Engineering shall coordinate the selection of students with the office of Financial Aid.

The Evelyn Hollberg Smith Memorial Scholarship CFA

The recipient shall have demonstrated financial need and be a graduate of a West Virginia high school. The recipient shall be either a recent high school graduate with a minimum 3.75 GPA and a minimum SAT score of 1320, or a Marshall University student with an overall GPA of 3.5 or better and a minimum SAT score of 1320.

The Garth Derek Brown Scholarship for Students of Visual Art

The Department of Art will determine the process for selecting the scholarship recipient. The award will be made in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The George W. and Annie B. Hughes Scholarship

Recipients will demonstrate financial need and be selected by the Office of Financial Aid.

The Glenn W. Burner Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship shall benefit Criminal Justice majors in the College of Science.

The Houvouras Family Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit residents of Cabell or Wayne County with demonstrate financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The Huntington Pediatric Clinic Council Scholarship

The student must be an undergrad or grad enrolled as a nursing student Student must have need per the office of financial aid. The first priority is a student from the tri-state who is majoring in pediatrics, second priority to a student in nursing.

The scholarship is renewable as long as the student is meeting Satisfactory academic progress.

The Ima Blake Scholarship Fund

This scholarship shall benefit students who are residents of West Virginia and demonstrate financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The J. Kaye Trippy Scholarship in the Fine Arts

The recipient(s) shall be full-time freshmen in the College of Fine Arts with a high school GPA of at least 3.0 or a student enrolled in the College of Fine Arts. The award shall be renewable if the recipient(s) maintains good academic standing of a GPA of 2.5 or greater. The Dean shall select the recipient(s) and renew the award in coordination with the Office of Financial Aid.

First preference shall be given to students from Monroe or Greenbrier Counties in West Virginia. Should there be no qualifying applicants from these counties; the Dean of the College of Fine Arts is responsible for the selection and renewal process, in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The James E. Casto Journalism Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time Sophomore or Junior student in the College of Journalism. The selection should be based on academic merit and involvement with The Parthenon, Marshall University's student newspaper. The award is renewable for up to two years.

The Jane Hobson Memorial Scholarship

Selection shall be made in the fall for an awarding in the spring. The selection will be made by the Chair of the Music Department.

The Jean McAlister Albarran Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time undergraduate student who is a member of the Honors College.

First preferences to West Virginia natives and students majoring in the College of Science.
Second preference to students majoring in the College of Education and Professional Development.

The John E. Pauley CLU ChFC Lewis College of Business Endowed Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time, undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Finance in the Lewis College of Business, with first preference to, but not limited to, students pursuing coursework in Financial Services and Insurance. The Dean of the College of Business, or his/her designee, shall select the recipient and renew the award, in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The King Sisters Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time undergraduate or graduate students who are majoring in Music in the College of Arts and Media or Music Education in the College of Education and Professional Development, in good academic standing, and have financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance. The award may be renewed up to four years (8 semesters) if the recipient maintains good academic standing. The Dean of the College of Arts and Media or his/her designee shall select the recipient and renew the award, in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

THE KYLE G. MCMULLEN SCHOLARSHIP IN ACCOUNTING

Recipients of the scholarship shall be junior or senior accounting majors with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Financial need may also be a consideration.

THE LEE CORBIN ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

One qualified student majoring in Business Administration at Marshall University. The recipients shall be of junior or senior standing at the University, have a record of acceptable academic performances, and show promise of success in the business community. If no junior or senior is available then a sophomore or freshman shall be considered. Financial need shall be a prime prerequisite.

The first consideration will be given to Corbin, Ltd. employees, and their immediate families.

The Leo V. Imperi Music Scholarship Fund

The recipient of the scholarship shall be a full time music student whose personal and academic qualities most closely represent those of the individual this fund memorializes.The recipient shall be recommended for the scholarship by a member of the Imperi family and the Department of Music faculty in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance

The Louise Price Hoy Latin Prize

Two awards will be given. The recipent must be enrolled in Latin as a major and have not studied th esubject in high school. The other award will go to a student that has had latin in high school and is enrolled in latin as a major. Both recipents will be the top of class for the requierments (highest GPA for both). Student must complete latin 204.

The Lubin Family Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit students on the basis of need and academic record.

The Luzader Family Scholarship

The recipient shall be an incoming freshman, pursuing a major in the College of Science, who is in good academic standing with a 3.0 GPA or higher.

First preference to a resident of Southern West Virginia, who is a first-generation college student, and has financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The award shall be renewable up to four years (8 semesters) if the recipient maintains good academic standing of 3. 0 GP A or higher.

The Maier Foundation STEM Educators' Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be a resident of West Virginia who has scored at least a 26 on the ACT or SAT equivalent, who has a 3.0 GPA in high school. As part of the selection process, a student must participate in an interview conducted by the College of Education

and Professional Development and have a desire (be willing) to teach secondary STEM courses in southern West Virginia for four years following graduation.

The Marcelo Lajterman Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit a full-time undergraduate student, with a 3.0 GPA or higher, who demonstrates financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The Margie Crabtree Coltrane Journalism Scholarship

The recipient is a student in the college of journalism and mass communication who shows academic promise and the expectation that they will make excellent contributions to journalism. Preference will be given to non-traditional students making their own way through college. Also preference will be given to students receiving an RBA degree.

THE MARIAN ALEXANDER BLAKE AND MERRILL CLIFFORD BLAKE SCHOLARSHIP

recipient will undertake a masters program; The masters candidate must complete the degree requirements for a. M.A. in English literature including an acceptable thesis. For a doctorate, the scholarship may be granted for up to two additional full years. Emphasis should be given to the creative writing

The recipient must be able to provide a demonstrable interest in the literature of the Confederacy, an aptitude for research and writing exemplified by samples, and a demonstrated record of superior scholarship.

The Mark S. Walker Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship shall benefit incoming freshmen who are residents of Raleigh, Summers, Fayette, Wyoming counties.

THE MARY W. GEORGE MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP

The scholarship is for a senior medical technology student. Since the senior year requires at least one semester of full time enrollment, some students may be required to leave fulltime jobs and the additional assistance be crucial.

Student has completed an associate degree, student will be entering a senior CLS course, GPA of 2.5 in CLS and a min of 2.0 overall

The McCloud Family Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time undergraduate student who is a resident of West Virginia; in good academic standing with a 3.0 GPA and has a need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

First preference to a chemistry major from Logan High School, Logan County, West Virginia, if none, then from Logan County, West Virginia.
Second preference to a physics, engineering, or biology major from Logan High School, if none, then from Logan County.
Third preference to a chemistry major from any other county in West Virginia, but preferably the southern counties of Boone, Fayette, Greenbrier, Lincoln, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Monroe, Nicholas, Raleigh, Summers, and Wyoming.

The Monica Ann Lucas Memorial Scholarship

The student must be a full-time junior or senior with a declared major in Health Care Management, Have a minimum grade point average of 2.70, and a 250 word typed essay on why the student wants to be a Health Care Management major.

The Ovie and Jesse Cline John Marshall Scholarship

The recipient shall be a strings student performing in the Orchestra of the Department of Music. In the event such a student is not identified, the award may be made to an outstanding student - 3.5 grade point average or better - in any area of study.

The Pamela G. Nibert Access to Excellence Scholarship Award

The recipients shall be full or part-time undergraduate or graduate students who are residents of Mason, Wood, Cabell, Kanawha, or Jackson counties in West Virginia, in good academic standing with a 3.0 GPA and have financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The Paul H. and Dixie O. Nicely Scholarship for the Marshall University Forensic Science Center

The recipient for this renewable award shall be a graduate Forensic Science Center student from West Virginia or a qualified metro-student with high academic performance and financial need.

Two potential recipients shall be nominated by the Director/Assistant Director of the Forensic Science Center in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance. In making the nomination, the Director/Assistant Director of the Forensic Science Center shall give first preference to students working on projects that promote sustainability and growth of the West Virginia metro economy.

The Robertson Family Scholarship Endowment for History or Political Science

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time undergraduate student(s), in good academic standing with a 2.5 GPA or higher, who is majoring in history or political science in the College of Liberal Arts. First preference to a student from West Virginia or the metro county areas of Ohio and Kentucky, as defined by Marshall University.

The Rodeo Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit students from Coal Mining Communities.

The Sarah Nott Memorial Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time undergraduate student majoring in advertising in the School of Journalism and Mass Communications in the College of Arts and Media. The Dean of the College of Arts and Media, or at his/her discretion the School of Journalism, shall select the recipient in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The Silver Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit students in the College of Science.

The Sinclair Family Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time student from West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio or Virginia.

The Staley Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit incoming freshmen who are residents of Wayne County, West Virginia, who graduated in the upper third of his/her class and who demonstrates financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The Stewart H. Smith Memorial Scholarship

The recipient shall be a student majoring in a degree in Fine Arts. In the event such a student is not identified, or if the department should cease to exist, the award may be made to an outstanding student in any area of study.

The Thrasher Group Scholarship

The recipient shall be a West Virginia resident majoring in the College of Engineering and Computer Science who is in good academic standing with a 3.0 GPA or higher and has a financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance. The award is non-renewable with only one recipient a year. The Office of Student Financial Assistance shall select the recipient.

The Tommy and Elizabeth Gilbert Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit full-time undergraduate students who have financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance. First preference to students from West Virginia. Second preference to students from Mississippi, Arkansas, Kentucky, or Ohio.

The Twentieth Street Bank Scholarships

Scholarship shall benefit students from Mason, Cabell, Lincoln, Wayne and Logan counties in West Virginia.

The Wade Family Scholarship for Jackson County Students

The recipients shall be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student who is a resident of Jackson County in West Virginia, in good academic standing with a 3.0 GPA or higher and have financial need per the standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance. The award shall be renewable up to four years (8 semesters) if the recipient maintains good academic standing.

The Wade Family Scholarship for Mason County Students

The recipient(s) shall be full-time undergraduate or graduate student who is a resident of Mason County in West Virginia, in good academic standing with a 3.0 GPA or higher and have financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance. The award shall be renewable for up to four years (8 semesters) if the recipient maintains good academic standing. The Office of Student Financial Assistance shall select the recipient and renew the award if full-time status and satisfactory academic progress are maintained. For first TWO (2) years the annual awards shall total $1,000.00. Each year thereafter the award can be made up to the amount available in the expendable fund.

THE WALTER C. TREANOR MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

One or more students in their junior or senior year in the College of Business who maintains at least a C+ grade point average and is earnest and serious in the pursuit of a college education. Student must have a record of good citizenship and demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid.

The scholarship shall benefit students with financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The first priority shall be given to veteran students.

Scholarship shall benefit a full-time, undergraduate student from the College of Education and Professional Development who plans to teach History, has a minimum GPA of 3.0 and has demonstrated financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Theron Albert Ferrari Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time students who are residents of West Virginia and have financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Thomas "Tom" and Patricia "Trish" Rappold Scholarship

The recipients shall be a full-time undergraduate students in the Lewis College of Business, who are in good academic standing with a 2.5 GP A or higher and have financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance. First preference to residents of either Raleigh County in West Virginia or Roanoke County in Virginia. Second preference to residents of any other county in West Virginia.

Thomas A. & Mary Ward Maroney Scholarship

The scholarship shall benefit residents of West Virginia who are scholastically promising and demonstrate financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

First preference to students enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts or the College of Arts and Media.

Thomas B. Wright III Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time student in the College of Business who is a West Virginia resident, in good academic standing with a 2.5 GPA or higher, and has need per the standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Thomas Dunfee Memorial Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time, undergraduate student in the College of Business. First preference shall be given to a West Virginia resident. The award may be renewed for up to four years ( eight semesters) if good academic standing and full-time status are maintained. The Dean of the College of Business shall select and renew the award, in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Tim and Trudy Strosnider Bucey Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit sophomores, juniors, and/or seniors with a GPA of 2.5 or greater.

Tom and Joan Skeeter Family Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit students from Kanawha County, West Virginia. First preference to graduates of St. Albans High School.

Tom and Sally McNeill Lemke Scholarship

The recipient shall have a·high school GPA of 3.5 or better.
First preference shall be given to students from Hardy County, WV, and Schuylkill CoWlty in Pennsylvania or their successor school systems; second preference shall be shown students from the following counties in West Virginia: Berkeley, Grant, Hampshire, Hardy, Jefferson, Mineral, or Morgan.

Each recipient shall be an incoming freshman who is a full-time student and has demonstrated financial need. The first preference shall go to a student in the College of Science.

Tom D. Miller Award For Excellence in Public Affairs Reporting

The selected recipient must be a full time student majoring in Journalism and enrolled in the School of Journ & Mass Comm

Tri-State Building Trades and Tri-State Contractors Association Scholarship

The scholarship shall benefit a student who is a building tradesman or a dependent of a building tradesman, either currently employed, retired, or deceased, who is or was at the time of retirement or death a member of a Local Union affiliated with the Tri-State Building Trades Council. First priority shall be given to a student who is dependent of a deceased building tradesman or one who has been permanently disabled through a job-related accident.

Preference shall be given to dependents of tradesman whose Local Union has maintained a fifty percent (50%) attendance record at the regular monthly meetings of the Tri-State Building Trades Council over the past twelve (12) month period. The recipient must have an overall GPA of 2.5 and be a full-time student to be selected.

Tri-State India Association Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit a full-time, incoming freshman, undergraduate student, who is a first-generation attending college in good academic standing with a 2.75 GPA and an ACT score of 18 or higher, or corresponding SAT scores. Student shall demonstrate financial need per standards determined by the Office of Financial Assistance.

Truth Matters in Journalism Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time, undergraduate student majoring in the School of Journalism and Mass Communications in the College of Arts and Media, who is a resident of West Virginia and has financial needs per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Vecellio Civil Engineering Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be a full-time undergraduate junior or senior student, majoring in Transportation and Civil Engineering, in the College of Information Technology and Engineering and in good academic standing with a 2.75 GPA or higher. First preference to residents of the tristate area of Marshall University: Lawrence and Gallia counties in Ohio, Greenup and Boyd counties in Kentucky and Wayne and Cabell Counties in West Virginia. Second preference to other residents in Ohio, Kentucky or West Virginia.

Verna K. LeMasters Gibson Scholarship

The scholarship shall benefit graduating seniors from Point Pleasant High School in West Virginia.

First preference is given to students who demonstrate financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Vernon Sharp Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit graduates of Cabell Midland High School. They shall be full-time student(s) in the College of Science, with first priority to majors in mathematics who are in good academic standing and demonstrate financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

First priority will be given to students in good academic standing and those that have financial need.

Vietnam Veteran of America Chapter 949 Scholarship

The scholarship shall benefit an incoming freshman who is a veteran or has a relative who served in the military during any era.

The student must also be a graduate of one of the following area high schools or their successors: South Point, Chesapeake or Fairland in Ohio; Cabell Midland, Huntington, St. Joe, Spring Valley or Wayne in West Virginia; Paul Blazer in Kentucky.

Vinson High School

For students graduating from Spring Valley High School who have average grades and might not otherwise receive financial assistance. The recipient will be a full-time, undergraduate student at Marshall University.

Virgil E. and Irene O. Hodges Memorial Scholarship

The recipient shall be ONE incoming John Marshall Scholar who receives the Promise Scholarship and is a West Virginia resident with demonstrated financial need. The total grants and scholarships awarded, including the Virgil and Irene Hodges Memorial Scholarship, cannot exceed actual full-time semester enrollment costs, including tuition/fees, room and board, and a book allowance, as determined by The Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA).

However, as a John Marshall Scholar, the recipient shall receive a stipend each semester. If as an upperclassman the recipient does not live at home or on campus, the room and board allowance shall not exceed the average cost of living on campus.

Virginia D. Kirkwood Scholarship for the College of Education

Scholarship shall benefit a full-time, undergraduate student who is in the College of Education and Professional Development, enrolled in teacher education and has financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Virginia H. Keys Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time students who have majors in teacher education. First priority shall be given West Virginia residents and entering freshmen.

Virginia Habeeb Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit Marshall University students.

Virginia M. Ballard Scholarship

The recipient shall be a full-time student in the College of Liberal Arts majoring in psychology and who has demonstrated financial need. First preference shall be given to residents of KY or WV.

Virginia M. Keadle Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit full-time undergraduate students with a 3.9 GPA or better and ACT composite score of 30+ or corresponding SAT scores.

Virginia Pauley Echols Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit students from West Virginia with a 3.0 GPA. First preference shall be given to students from Nicholas County, West Virginia

Virginia Webb Caldwell Performing Arts Memorial Scholarship

The recipient shall have a demonstrated financial need and be West Virginia resident who has a piano major in the College of Fine Arts.

W. B. "Bart" and Doris Andrews Fine Arts Scholarship

The recipient(s) for this renewable award must be a full-time entering freshman into the College of Fine Arts with financial need. The recipient shall be a West Virginia resident. The award may be renewed as long as a minimum 2.5 GP A is maintained the recipient's freshman year and at least a 2.75 is maintained the remaining six semesters. The recipient must also remain a student in good standing in the College of Fine Arts.

W. B. "Bart" and Doris Andrews Scholarship for the College of Business

The recipient shall be a full-time undergraduate student majoring in Business Management in the College of Business.

The student must be a resident of a county in southern West Virginia (Cabell, Lincoln, Wayne, Putnam, Mason, Fayette, Kanawha, Raleigh, Nicholas, Logan, Mingo, Jackson, and Clay) or one of the Kentucky or Ohio counties that border West Virginia (Gallia, Lawrence, Meigs and Scioto Counties in Ohio and Carter, Greenup and Lawrence Counties in Kentucky).

The recipient must be in good academic standing (2.5 GP A) and have financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The award shall be renewable up to four years (8 semesters) if the recipient maintains good academic standing of 3.0 GPA or higher.

W.B "Bart" and Doris Andrews Jazz Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time students in the College of Arts and Media. The Dean of the College of Arts and Media, or at his/her discretion the School of Music, shall select the awardees.

W.H. Marcum Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit graduates from Mingo Central and Tug Valley High Schools.

Wallace E. Knight Writing Award

The award will recognize excellence in creative writing of any sort. The award will be given to a student in the College of Liberal Arts.

Walter H. Lewis Scholarship Fund

Scholarship shall benefit Marshall University students.

We Are Marshall Endowed Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit incoming freshmen, who are residents of West Virginia, and have a high school GPA of 2.5 or greater.

Wendy's - Carol Carter Memorial

Scholarship shall benefit current crew members of Wendy's International Inc. who have been employed a minimum of six months.

West Virginia Literacy Foundation Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit the student selected by the West Virginia Literacy Foundation

West Virginia Society of Washington, D.C. Book Scholarship Fund

Scholarship shall benefit incoming freshmen who are residents of West Virginia and have high academic promise and financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Wilburn and Maxine Hurst Academic Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time students in the College of Education who are from high schools in Wayne or Cabell Counties, West Virginia.

The Dean of the College of Education and Human Services in collaboration with the Office of Student Financial Aid, shall select the recipients and renew the award(s) for up to a total of four years (eight semesters) if full-time status and appropriate academic progress are made.

Willard V. & Mamie D. Adkins Scholarship Fund

Scholarship shall benefit students from West Virginia who are attending as full-time students who demonstrate financial need per standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

William "Bill" Hill Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit full-time undergraduate students in the College of Education and Professional Development, who are residents of West Virginia.

William A Seacrist Jr. Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit West Virginia residents who demonstrate financial need and standards determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

William A. Wallace Memorial Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time graduate students who are counseling majors in the COEPD who intend to pursue their Ph.D. degree.

Scholarship shall benefit Marshall University students.

Scholarship shall benefit deserving full-time students.

William B. Harwood Scholarship for Aspiring Writers

The recipient shall be a full-time student majoring in English in the College of Liberal Arts who has demonstrated exceptional writing skills.

William Bales Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit full-time, undergraduate students with a minimum high school GPA of 2.75 who have participated in some extracurricular activity such as sports, music, clubs or community service.

First preference shall be given to a student who graduated from a high school in the state of West Virginia.

William Edward Blevins and Roger Lee Yost Scholarship Fund

Scholarship shall benefit Marshall University students.

William Eugene Watson Scholarship

The recipient of this award shall be a full time undergraduate student at the junior or senior level who has a minimum 3.0 grade point average and a declared major in Special Education.

William F. & Georganna R. Ashford Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit a full-time incoming sophomore in the Lewis College of Business from West Virginia.

WILLIAM F. AGEE SCHOLARSHIP IN FINANCE

The award shall be made to a deserving student majoring in either finance or economics In the Elizabeth McDowell Lewis College of Business who is entering his/her junior year. The award may be renewed pending satisfactory academic progress.

William J. Bischoff Scholarship

The scholarship shall benefit Math and/or Science Education majors in the College of Education and Professional Development. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and have a permanent address in West Virginia, Ohio or Kentucky.

First preference to incoming freshmen.

William J. Maier Jr. Latin Awards and Scholarship

The recipient of the scholarship shall be a full-time student with a Latin major in the Department of Classics enrolled in either the College of Liberal Arts or the College of Education. The chair of the Department of Classics shall be responsible for the selection process for this one-year award,:the recipients-of the-awards-shall be high school·students·who participate-in the Maier Latin Gup and/or the Maier Sight-Translation competitions. The chair of the Department of Classics at Marshall University shall be responsible for the selection process for these one-year awards.

William L. & Doris E. Niemann Geology Scholarship

The recipients shall be full-time undergraduate students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Geology or graduate students pursuing a Master of Science in Physical Science with an emphasis in geology (thesis option); who are in good academic standing, attend and participate in class regularly. Academic performance and financial need per standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance shall be the major criteria for selection and maybe exclusive.

William N. Denman Communication Studies Graduate Award

The recipient shall be a full-time, second year graduate student in Communication Studies in the College of Liberal Arts who has shown outstanding work in the first year of Graduate school. The chair of Communication Studies and a committee of Graduate professors in the program will award a student in the Spring term for the upcoming Fall semster in cooperation with the office of Student Financial Aid.

William Page Pitt Journalism Scholarship

The recipient shall be selected, with concurrence of the Steering Committee, the person or persons to receive the grants, taking into account need, achievement and such other factors.

William R. Fugitt Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit a resident of West Virginia who have demonstrated unmet need.

Women of Marshall Scholarship

Scholarship shall benefit students who demonstrate strong commitment to academic success; multicultural and gender equity; and community or university service.

Zaynab Salem Scholarship

The recipient(s) shall be a first-generation college student who is a mechanical engineering major in the College of Engineering and Computer Science. The recipient should be in good academic standing with a 3.0 GPA or higher and have a financial need per the standards of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.
